so what need to do if want to change to open pod

U will need to work on the A/F setting. Changing of pilot jets, main jets and carb needle setting. Of course that will depends very much on the state of tune. If you are lucky, u may only need to change 1 jets or 2.

If Im not wrong the cover shld be removeable exposing it like a normal malossi red filter??

Thats right spy. It comes with a cover. Mainly for restricting more of the rain water.

itz more of a protection cover but it also restricts the airflow...datz y Malossi is clever enuff to make a dual purpose product...

sort of like use the cover when u need dat protection :)

Check if your carb has got a chock lever. If its a racing carb than it would have 1. The mech at Tai Hin would probably have set the jetting for u and tested it before returning the bike to u. All bikes that run on carbs have jettings. Not only manual bikes.

WOAH!!!

black comet also join in for debate liao. !!!!!

i also want to say some thing .

when satgi say carb got water . can have many factor.

not alway water can only go in by open port.

it could mean ur petrol might be contaminated with water too.

when u change to a open port . have u ever did a spark plug check to see if the jets match the setting ?

was the mixture too rich in the first place.

was ur air filter clean , is the filter oiled constainly ?

how did ur scoot died when ur ride in the rain ?

did it feels like ur scoot is running with ur choke on ?

for ur info. the amount of air going through the air filter will effect the jet constanly.

if the filter is dirty or wet ( as in during rain ) or too much filter oil. ur mixture will be richer.

i have used open filter in the worst rain condition ( 1 shot kill 2 of my hand phone ) and yet my scoot did not die on me.

so there should be no reason why ur scoot should give u problem due to rain.

thanks got to take note of this...

i got no idea how my bike die that day lol...

but i remember after e rain i when to collect it, and i can be ride, but no power..

cause carb got water....(Mac said that)

If ur engine is stock, then a 150 mainjet might be abit too rich for u...go n find out ur pilot jet n needle clip position bah

Fuel comsumption is still not so much of an important thing...performace n fuel efficiency is the key

If you want good fuel comsumption u shld not hav use a racing carb in the 1st plc.

BUT if ur setup is done properly, u will get performace n good fuel efficiency (every single drop of fuel is perfectly used) thus wif dat boil dwn to gd fuel comsumption again dat performace increase.

Example : u go slow n ur FC is 22km/l..wif gd setup u go faster, bike more powerful n ur FC remains 22km/l

no such thing as u go faster, bike more powerful n ur FC becomes much much better like 40km/l
