how did the outing go? Gotto miss this one cos of the haze... i am also down with running nose, dry cough and a headache...

80 Kmph Speed Limit Remains Until Jan 15 Next Year

RAWANG, Oct 6 (Bernama) -- The lower speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour

(kmph) to be imposed on federal and state roads during the festive seasons

will be enforced until Jan 15 next year.

 

Works Minister Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said there would be several

festivals like Deepavali, Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Christmas and Chinese New

Year during the enforcement period of the speed limit from Oct 17 to Jan 15.

 

"I have signed a letter to gazette the directive yesterday," he told

reporters here after launching the "Jom Balik Kampung" and "Pandu Cermat"

with PLUS campaigns, here Friday.

 

Yesterday, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy said the lower speed

limit would be effective from this Oct 14, and its gazetting would be made

after a discussion with the Works Ministry and police.

 

Samy Vellu also announced the opening of a third lane for the PLUS

expressway's segments of Seremban and Senawang in Negri Sembilan which are

always congested during festive seasons and weekends.

 

He said with the third lane, the South-bound journey would be smoother.

 

The minister also announced the opening of the Pendang multi-level junction

in Kedah this festive season to ease traffic from there and Kota Sarang

Semut.

 

Samy Vellu also requested PLUS Expressways Berhad to monitor from air the

traffic flow on the expressway throughout the festive period apart from

increasing its fleet of tow-trucks at strategic locations.

 

Earlier in his speech, he praised the highway concessionaire for conducting

the road safety campaigns.

 

Even though the total number of road accidents on the PLUS expressway during

Hari Raya and Deepavali last year were only 313 or 2.3 per cent out of the

total 13,330 road accidents, he hoped the number could be reduced further

with such campaigns.

yeah.. i agree with james.. dam on a tues is nothing much

 

if East shall we go changi airport? been quite sometime since i laz went there

if not we can go:

a) marina south pier (nice nite scene)

b) mt faber

c) al ameen (bt timah) for food, then play pool or wat

d) clarke quay satay club

e) simpang bedok

f) east coast let wind blow

g) chomp chomp / serangoon gardens

h) punggol park

i) merlion park

etc etc
