hi, after a few near skidding experiences, I decided to look ard for abs upgrades for my scooter, came upon this things from aliexpress that could just be attached to our brake calipers and transform them to anti lock brakes!

anyone had any experience or seen shops offering them.

Thank you

Do you know what it does? Its a valve that releases 50% of the brake pressure. So your brakes are only working halfway even when you slam them on full. If you think that is safer than having 100% of your brakes, then go ahead.

Need to practice more on ur braking skills. Dun just hantam and squeeze. Got teknic bruh

i was curious so i did a bit of reading.

that thing is NOT ABS.

this is what ABS looks like:

ABS has a sensor to detect wheel lock. then theres a mechanism to pulse the brakes when it detects wheel lock.

ABS is bike specific. there is as yet no generic ABS.

what that thing there is a valve that limits the maximum braking you can perform. you can adjust it to, say, limit the maximum of your brake system to not more than 80% of its actual. it is a device that reduces the maximum braking that you can perform.

no go, man. i wouldn ride any bike with that thing fitted.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

Ride your bike safely with enough space for you to brake. You will not need a Anti lock brakes for that.

I beg to differ that one does not need ABS.

Ok, need is perhaps not the right word but lets just say that no matter how well you ride and anticipate, there will be instances that will catch you off guard.

One rainy day i was riding my ABS equipped bike.

The lorry diagonally in front decided to have an Initial D moment and did a sudden lane change (i dont ask why).

Anticipation n years of riding gave way to an instinctive grab of the brake levers.

The pulsing ABS was the only thing that stopped me from skidding in front of the cars on the highway.

ABS is a good rider safety net. But aftermarket equipped n DIY installation? Not keen on it.
