interesting point.

I was in Ho Chin Minh last month and tell you, the traffic there is mad. hundreds and hundreds of bikes squeezing in every direction.

People U-Turn anywhere and without warning. often see cars and bikes going opposite direction and other things that would give out Land Transport Authority a heart attack.

SO my colleague offered to takeme on his bike (a kupkia which is what everyone else seems to ride)

We were on the road for about 45 mins with various stops as we were visiting IT retail outlets for work.

Honestly, it scared the **** out of me and I have been on the roads for like 7 years.

So they day after I asked my colleague about the traffic in his city and if there were alot of accidents. He humbly replied that traffic is heavy but not stressful and accidents are very seldom and usually very minor.

The reason,my humble colleague mentioned was that noone really speeds in the busy roads. He hardly went more than 45km/h when taking me around and this was not because i am heavy.

Also, riders and drivers alike are patient and tend to drive with the mindset that they need to lookout for one another and share the road so that all can return home safely. I felt this was very enlightening.

We live in a city with 1 of the best public transport systems and solid road conditions. maybe thats why we seem to forget and take things for granted and therefore end up becoming inconsiderate motorists...

yup, i do wish that both bikers and drivers can be more patient on the roads. it will then be a better and more enjoyable drive/ride every day.

Its not about hard you can hit, its about how many times you can take a hit and remain standing

Ok guys, just came back from the workshop. My fuel tank got water inside causing blackie to die on me. Reason is the drain hose got kinked and water cannot be drained out. I suggest u guys check the hose if your bike is due for service.

Low tire wall may not be suitable if you are using off road or uneven road surfaces. The reason that the Versys is using 120/70 is to compensate for the sport rims. Unlike spokes rim, sports rim are more rigid. Using a lower profile tire on uneven surface may damage the rim.

Eh just checked, my tyre is 120/60.. but then ah, I also never see when installing mah... so not right to make noise at them

Btw, doesnt seem to affect my riding

Hi rex,

Just take note, if you intend to keep the 120/60 profile, avoid traveling uneven road surfaces or mount the road curb ( since Versys is a cross between street and tourer ). Such activities may damage the rim because of the rigid sports rim.

just afraid the abs detect front and rear wheel spin at diff speed which will cause abs activate.actually I feel this bike more like for street/track only.u wouldn't wan the ABS activate while goin dwn a sand hill.

Unlike the 1000. It can on/off it's abs .

To9 i'm going molest your bike. :p

Not that i know of....

but my front brake does seem to be a little jerky... I had that before the tyre change... might be the brake pump kit.

Well, so far city riding i see no concern and I not planning to off road soon cos recovering from a torn ACL...

might use it for a while and then decide if I wanna change or not.

Hi guys,

I went for a JB short tour with my Kakis yesterday. The 1st stop was Desaru fruit farm. We had some fruits and TCSS for about an hour. After which we head down to Sungei Rengit for a lobster lunch. The lobster tasted marvelicious. we loaded ourselves with a lot of cholesterol. After the meal, we head back to E22 highway for a 100km ride to Bukit Indah. We had shopping and massage at Indah.

While transiting, the highest speed I attempted was 167km/h. When I hit that speed, I could feel the rear not stable. Hmmm, probably have to replace tire before my Dec trip. Most of time I cruise around 130km/h. The power and speed when needed for overtaking is always there. I think if the vibration can be reduce further, I think I can have longer rides interval before refueling.

I took it to 190kmh before something started shrinking and I closed throttle... Still not too bad at that speed cos I didn't realise it at first...

OLD NO GO, NEW NO COME.

@ the speed of >160km hr, it will start to have the effect of tank slap..

its can be many diff cause, like rear too heavy, box that coz the wind turbulence, wind shield and etc...

i had tried up to 170+ alone and its super not stable..

and once i pillion my friend and try to 170+ its still feel firm and stable..

both tried with 3 box btw...

and 1 more time is try with no box hit about 180+ not stable too...

but all this may not be the best setup coz my rear is lower and i nvr lower my front.

regarding vibration, the bike still ridable for long distance la..

i hit thailand with 3 stop, every interval i go 200+km.. speed 140~160km/hr

Wah.. I also wan go touring leh...

But i think my schedule damn tight.. prob can only go in Feb.....
