[Group] Kawasaki Versys

Servicing is cheap dude compared to other inline 4 bikes.

2 spark plug. 2 Bottle engine oil. and this bike seldom breaks down.

I spend a lot more money and time on accessories and riding gear ten on servicing. :)

Digging up an old tread. Just wanna ask the folks here. How is the maintenance for the versys 650 like? Haven ridden a bike for ages and thought of getting a 2nd/3rd hand versys to ride around. :)

Understand that it is EFI and parallel twin engine, so the usual servicing shouldnt cost too much. More concerned on the cost of spare parts and if they happen to cost significantly more than conventional bikes eg.fazer, super4 etc.

Cheers folks

Any comments are welcome!

Almost anywhere also can service man. Nothing too complicated with this bike unless you are talking about Versys specific accessories and what not.

Personally, I go to M-Technik at Ubi.

The mechanic Ken rides a Versys himself and they carry quite a few accessories/parts etc.

Very honest and straightforward place with a regular following of Tourers.

Do note that they are a 2 man operation and you will have to be patient at times. Worth the wait in my opinion.

Where to service our bikes? Lol

Ya that's the thing. Slow operation lo. Been there to scout before. But where to redo valve clearance? Want a reliable shop that does a proper job apart from those that grind shims kind. Haven't got a recommended place yet..

Ride fast..ride safe..don't crash...

Guys,

Kawasaki just showcase their new Versys for 2015.

They redesign the headlights n added matching top box & panniers.

Looks really good as a all-rounder & touring.

Wonder if anyone or shop going to import it in?

Thinking of getting the 1000cc.

What will be the OTR price?

Any comments???

Just bought a versys 650. I was riding a 09 fazer 6 before i decided to change bike. I was actually looking for a 2nd hand fazer 8 but someone beat me to it. Then the boss recommend me the versys at a good price plus he took in my fazer at a very high price. So after 4 hrs of consideration, and some persuasion from my wife, i decided to go ahead with the purchase.

Been a rider of more than 17yrs, having owned 15 bikes, this is the first time I'm riding a twin. Initially, the bike feels sluggish and very choppy at low revs. Then after some research over the net, i decided to adjust the TPS and changed to 44T rear sprocket. Wow, what a difference. Now the bike is more manageable at low revs and pulls harder when you open the throttle. Now I'm loving this bike. Sweet. And the fuel consumption is fantastic. I manage to clock 380km with 18L of fuel. ****, what there not to like. Its only 1 month and I'm liking it more and more.

Now looking for more accessories for my bike. Anyone selling, pls contact me at 92770840. Cheers and happy riding.

I am thinking of buying the 650/2018 model. How is the situation for the spare parts for versys in general? I read some threads from 2013 where people complained it's bad in Singapore (no reasonable post sale services) especially comparing to MY. Is this still the case?
