National park board sent two officers down to Binchang Rise near Bishan and issued me a ticket saying I would receive a letter within a week. I asked if I am going to be fined, he said depends on the prosecutor who reads my case. Added that I may be fined either below 200 or below 500. The officer said that he cannot confirm the fines but that's all he can reply me. :cry:

 

Friends birthday first got ruined by the rain. Rained stopped, officers came. :faint:

 

Anyone know what will happen to me?

Yeah without valid permit.

 

Neither straight cash was paid nor amount written on my ticket. And the guy who quoted below 200 or below 500 says he can't quote me initially.

no worry one lah.. when they give you the fine you just go appeal and say you all dun knoe must book the BBQ pit den ask them to give chance... i think the most fine $50 only... :smile:

Arcfire, I was BBQ-ing at a small park of approximately 300 by 300 meters or a little more near Clover rise. Its in Bishan, opposite Raffles Institute walk in about 5 minutes reach already. My friend lives just a couple of units down from the place where I BBQ-ed. And he have always seen people BBQ there. :cry:

If they didn't take down your particulars then no need to worry but if they did, just start drafting the appeal later now :)

I sent them an email on the night of the issue.

I think that will help but it seems that written appeal esp with MP signature seems more effective. I'm sure you know how 'powderful' MP signature can be :):cheeky:

My dad said to appeal first. If can't then we'll approach our MP. xD I'll update my dad on this plan you suggested. Sounds good. I'll append it in my snail mail appeal letter. :bouncefire:

If they do not entertain your letter than go MP.

 

Scenario on meeting MP:

 

Jaybern: Good Evening Sir, blah blah blah (Brief him on what happened with the draft letter in your hand). I really am remorse about my actions and i had no idea that it was an offence. I'm will ensure that such an incident will not recur. May i get your endorsement to my appeal letter please.

 

MP: Ok Jaybern, be a good boy ok. Next time barbeque properly (Signs the appeal letter).

 

Jaybern: Thank you sir. May good bless you with wealth and Selamat Hari Raya (Ooops if MP not malay then cannot liao).

Anyway i not sure who is Sengkang MP but just go RC and ask. I think sure got one MP there.

I think if you sound apologetic they might might might give another chance. Try again with MP lor. Say you not purposely.
