Hi, I would like to know something.. I read that the CB400 fuel tank capacity is 18litres. But why is it whenever my meter goes to reserve and I pump, only 11litres can go in and the tank is already filled up to the brim. Anyway, the first time I pumped 11litres, managed to get 270km before reserve. That's about 25km/litre, is that good or bad?

Went to reserve and pumped again just now, 11litres again. Don't tell me the reserve tank carries 7litres? I already made sure the fuel **** in at the "ON" position. My fuel tank capacity smaller meh? Riding a Version S. :faint:

Did you check your fuel meter in standing position or when you put your bike on side stand? Usually the meter shows reserve easily (even it is actually one or two bar) when your bike is on side stand. 25km/litre is a good sign, cos i know some s4 riders can only hit about 19-20km/litre... I am riding a vtec 1, and my fuel consumption is average around 25km/litres also.

FYI, the reserve signal will come on when your tank is left with about 3 litres of petrol. So, I think you pump your tank way too early... Besides, if you can get 270km with 11 litres of patrol, I am pretty sure you can wait a bit longer everytime before you go and pump your petrol. Based on my own personal habit, I will usually go and pump petrol everytime after I clock above 330km (can pump about 13 litres) even though I know my bike full tank can go above 400km. I heard it is not adviceable to clock your bike to the maxium milege everytime before you pump in petrol, cos it's not good for the engine. I am impressed by flykite though, who can clock up to 500km full tank... probably I will need to gain some trottle discipline.

Also, try pumping your petrol in standing position too to see how much more litres of petrol you can pump in. Usually, there can be about 1-2 litre difference. This account the difference in pumping a full tank and "not so full" tank. Hope my little piece of info help you clear your doubts! =)

The sensor buay Zhun one..

Since it's a manual switch, you will feel that the bike almost going to run out of petrol and you can switch to reserve. For this you can travel like 60km more avg. Then you can aga aga liao..
