Hello guys & gals,

My partner and I are going to Genting on 15th Dec Saturday to watch Jolin Tsai's concert.

We'll be riding up on Saturday morning around 4am from GP Esso.

Will anyone be interested to join us?

We'll be staying the night at Theme Park Hotel.

Accomodation can be found at http://www.genting.com.my

Most probably leaving Genting around 1pm the next day 16th Dec Sunday.

As this is our first time travelling up North so far, please feel free to give us some pointers that we should take note of.

Thanks and hope there will be people joining us on this trip :cheeky:

It's the raining season, going uphill with pillion, first time travelling to location. Would suggest that you take a coach there. Would be less miserable as you would be warm and dry.

Rebuilding my dreams. But first, the gears

1) WP RS Taichi riding jacket

2) WP riding pants

3) Titanium riding gloves

4) Garmine Nuvi 550 GPS (US$259)

5) WP Komine riding boots

6) Arai Helmet

7) The BIKE of course! :cheeky:

Exactly...the rd is steep + the wet weather! Damn!

Some biker once said " If u haven't been to Gerik, U haven't been touring in Malaysia".

Ride safe if you choose to ride there. The roads will definately be a lot more challenging during this season.

Make sure you check your brakes before heading up... you do not want your brakes to fail you when you're coming down. :giddy:

are the roads that bad in december? as in it'll be more slippery or just that the gradient is naturally hard to ride?

been to genting during the december holiday... i find it ok... not that slippery(unless you are thinking of riding up 120 km/h up the hill... then good luck to you.) down hill was also ok... 2 gear in most places and 1st on the more steep side... my advise is, as long you ride defensibly, you should be alright with or without pillion.. (just my 2 cent)

On average, every three days, 1 motorcyclist or a pillion die or is seriously injured in a traffic accident. Riding a motorcycle is dangerous enough. Riding recklessly is Suicidal.

Can I ask, will there be signs along the way to guide me to Genting especially after exiting the Highway?

I brought my phantom up twice, RVF up once.

Hmm RVF huh, I used a tank bag. With an extra back-pack strapped down to my pillion seat with some nets.

Maybe you can consider strapping 2 waist pouches to the side of your pillion seat. :cheeky:

LOL, can consider can consider. was toying with the idea of bringing my CBR150R up instead. challenging, dunno if she can take it or not. ur phantom was TA150 right? not the 4 stroker version? wonder how a 4 stroke 2B bike will fare with pillion.

Check your insurance's terms and conditions.

This Policy does not insure any accident, loss, damage, injury or liability arising outside West Malaysia, the Republic of

Singapore and that part of Thailand within 80.5km of the border between Thailand and West Malaysia.

:btw: Genting ... hmm ... tempting ...

But I think for now, i stick to 1 day tours :cheeky:

anyone knows how much toll we'll have to pay in total?

RM1.30 at Link Kedua towards GP

RM1.30 at Link Kedua towards SGP.

You wouldn't need to pay toll on the journey up to KL. Such are the merits of 2 wheelers :D
