Anybody plannning to ask LTA how come the 2B 2A and 2 since 70s was not review? They are having the classification because of the weight of the bike. The problem now is most of the 2B bike is 200kg, to practice with one at abt 150kg, most of them are 250cc. Very few are less than 200cc. It is the same situation for 2A.

cc does not mean weight

as you progress your 2b, 2a and 2, you will eventually understand why they have this system.

for me, i rather they keep with this system, judging by the high accident rates for bikes still

99noon99 is TP? How you know its classification is due to weight? Btw I think it's TP which regulated the classification, not LTA.

Hmm it may be TP, however, not many countries use 3 types for motorbike. Even in Japan, you don't need a licence to ride a bike

I any case, I think the 3 types are good, but it should be a balance between weight and cc. Increaing manufacture are making small heavy bike at 250cc (for beginners to go on big heavy bike like HD) and our system still on 200cc :-( It is kind of slow.

The reason I said this is while lookig for a heavy 2B bike so that it would be easier to go for 2A, I have only 2 choices, daystar and one taiwan brand. both >160kg. The rest are 250cc :-(. In the end, got phantom, which is 140 kg, not a heavy small bike as is

Many bikes accident on the road.? I drive and I ride. To sum up there is a lot of blind drivers and a lot of mad riders, hence so many accidents. My motto, be alert and always give way.

Just, while travelling along bke filtering to PIE towards Changi, at a legal speed of 60km/h, there were 2 mad J plate honda cup riders drving at 90km/h squeezing between my car and a car on the left. As the car on the left is 'blind', I have to go on the fenders by the road, otherwise, these 2 jokers will end up ping-pong between the 2 cars.

Its simple why they want to have 3 different types of classes for motorcycles.

They just want you to spend money.

the different classes have left a huge gap in the bike market between the class 2b and class 2.

theres lotsa new class 2 & 2B bikes to choose from but for class 2A, its onli limited compared.

if it were to be like my proposal, more would start buying from the class 2A catagory eg. 600cc bikes. market grow, then everyone would enjoy the benefits (hope so)...hahaha
