R6S is the same as our 04,05 r6 but locally has stop but in e states, they r still continuing. i think there r 5-6 diff R6 worldwide but they all look the same

 

Yeah, agree. For some of them is the 08 or 09 model. Parts will be different for me cos I am 06-07, certain things wont fit

i believe k&n or BMC wont make a big diff.i'm using BMC. Do note that BMC have a few models eg. with air resistor or without or race filter. no point buying race filter although they provide better flow, u wont wan to keep washing ur filter and throttle body.

wash e filter according to manufacturer advice.

Personally I wont go as much as buying after market filter, raise the budget higher and get a new filter instead. Since your bike so new, whats the rush to change? Really get a new filter instead a worth while investment.

Hope it helps, knowing from the original dealer will actually lessen the hassle of trouble shooting cos dealing online can be quite dangerous should the supposed parts is missing. Get all the facts right and ask the online people. like that save you the headache. If I am not wrong Yamaha original dealer also available in Malaysia.

Yamaha malaysia reply mention they didnt deal with r6 model. only as listed in their website.

Racewerks suggest no need to install. too exp. even the malaysian shop buy with them. need to change all key, ignition, spedometer, ecu, new wire to cater new ecu. new triple clamp (with bigger ignition hole coz ignition with the immo need bigger hole). this all togather alr more than sgd 4k sgd.

 

they dun have 2nd hand immo. they suggest the security with the gps cheaper. around 500 - 700. but oso not that secure. he say if they wan hijack u anything u put oso they can hijack. so i'm kinda lost rite now.. lol

buy a thick chain and lock. secured t tyre to t swingarm.

buy a disc lock with alarm, those that will sound from any movement. hope that helps.

didn't expect tt so many need to be done. IMO,immobiliser is jus a blinking light at e speedo with not realistic function. if e thief really wans ur bike, whatever lock,alarm,immobiliser will be useless. alarm wit GPS sound gd. there r hardware n software out in e market tt can hijack ur ECU n turn ur immobilizer useless. nv leave ur bike out of ur vision or park in an absolute safe place with gd security.

Very happy guy so started riding away.

Riding halfway the "engine problem" light started coming up!!!

Then when i reach office. Cut off the engine then the error code 18 comes up!! Panic now.

 

What is the problem here ar? Anyone can advise??

code 18 means EXUP servo motor stuck. as u r using aftermarket slip-on,i'm not sure if e pipe comes with exhaust valve, if it does, ask them to connect back e cables properly

i'm not sure if ur slip on gt e exhaust valve anot. if yes and e valve is in close position then better dun ride it

EXUP should usually be at the end of header and not silencer. Check whether any cables not plugged back.

Well then try Singapore Hong Leong, see what they say. From what Racewerks has mentioned, the price is not worth. So Let the Singapore Yamaha finalize your conclusion.

 

If the thing is about the Immo, have to balance what you need then. What benefit you most, spending the money and still lose your bike or more hardcore security mechanism for safe and sound.

 

Alternative just buy higher insurance......
