Hi altya,

Thanks for the info.

As what u had mentions the bike I just brought over engine, water pump, coolant are all leaking + side panniers cant lock or open :( so sad told the seller i did not ride for more than 10 years and even the seller any issue with his bike and he said no problems except changing the battery.

Anyway spent around $1,100 to fix up all the issue. All thanks to Ah Heng from Lian Hup Seng Kee Trading Co located at No. 453 Geylang Road (next to post office) He even help me to wash up the whole bike after servicing. Thump up to Ah Heng and his attitude is Great too :)

Regards,

Able to give a break down of the repairs u done for the $1100? U didnt check when u take over? haha, but glad u find a gd mech that help u fix all

:pray::pray:

Hi all,

just got my hands on a VY Deauville...

My front glove compartments (both left right) covers are in pretty bad shape & fleabay doesn't seem to have any. Any recommendations??

So the plastic is notorious on her with cracks here there etc. Common problem I presume due to the density of the fairing?? any one can say by wrapping the plastics with stickers or even leather will help 'strengthen' the plastic?

Any idea about the steel braided hoses for Deauville? I running on Brembos calipers hence I presume they are not the CBS aka linked type but I see my ride hoses to be rather 'complicated'

Kindly advise.

Appreciate your help, Pizza. I'll visit First Moto. I am about to paint the bike and even sell it.. But the hunky V Twin, odd D shaped exhaust and the overall robustness of the thing keeps me holding on. They don't build these things anymore. Oh wait, the Kawa D800 ( that retro twin thing ) is a thought..

Many of us have have thought of going naked on the DV 650 in view of the expensive fairings.

I rmbr Bro Demoskatt posting so.

The chasis of the DV is the same as NTV 650 .(see attached).

And the NTV 650, if it resurfaces, will be the gorgeouslest thing in town.

Doable?

Just my wish..

Thats what i thought of doing . i also wanted to take off the side boxes because they kept opening up while riding. but i had a feeling it would be hot on the legs if they were no fairings

Prob can go to bike fabricator n ask them if they are able to mod the side panniers to h&b type. Mine still doing good so I not going to ask.

So far first motor will reject the repairing of fairing. Last time go there say no capacity to do it. Now I not sure.

Just to share. My mechanic literallty hacked out he pin( the thing that supposed to move) in the calipers, cleaned, sandpapered, greased, put back. What rebuild? I know it is time for me to clean miy calipers..I haven't helped STWB, but i figured you must have taken the thing out and seen the broken bits?
