Dear Friend,

I need advice.

I spoilt the plastic screw near the speedo while trying to undo it to refill my coolent. Where can I get it changed. Will it be expensive?

I have another problem, my engine temp is higer now a days about 84 used to be about 81, but the water in the water bottle is above the "F" mark, I fear if the feed line is knicked, and my engine is running without water, how can I check it.

I pressed the black hoses, it is soft and it feels empty, I may be wrong.

- Meet at Jurong Birdpark Carpark, take the AYE and exit to Jurong Island(make a U-Turn if coming from KJE, go straight if coming from PIE). The carpark is on your left after the junction.

- Meeting time is at 2300hrs, move off is at 2330hrs. If you are going to be late, sms me with your name at 91858701 so that we can wait for you.

- Have at least 3.5 litres of petrol. If you have just touched the first reserve when you reach the bird park, its ok. We will be pumping at GP Esso or Petronas.

- Bring your passport, filled white card, ringgit for petrol and food, RM3.20 and cashcard with at least $1.40 if going back by Tuas. If going back by Woodlands, you only need RM1.60 and $0.70 in your cashcard.

- Bring rain coat or jacket just in case it rains. If you are Ironman, skip this step and bring WD40 instead.

- Bring your WAGs and friends if you want cos everybody is welcomed.

- Lastly, ride safe on your way there and see you!

Cheers!

Do you mean the plastic screw at the key ignition place? Can get the same type but not the original from Autobacs. Come to our outing this Saturday at Kallang KFC then can discuss and see see what u did to the bike and how to remedy it.

Why are you so concern about your temperature? That range is alright. Unless its 95-100 then you can start to get worried. Its normal to have that temperature range. This is because the world's temperature is not the same everyday and also the speed that you are traveling affect radiator's temperature. Is this your 1st Class 2A bike? Dun worry too much. From the description it is alright. If you are really worried, go change and flush your coolant. Coolant maintenance best to do every year.

Can only be mounted if the horn is the same size as the original stock horn. Tried with PIAA, can't do it. Anyway most horns come in 2 for a reason. Its to stabilize the horn sound between the high and low pitch. So need to mount 2 at the bike.

Do take note on the heat when mounting behind the radiator. The horn won't last because the magnet in the horn will lose its power due to high heat. That is why you get low horn sounds as time goes by. Even best magnets loses its power to heat in the long run.

Fixed and used since 2006 no problem so far. However, it takes patience and skill to install.

anyway, i miss wildcard.

Swoosh, that's a really $^%@ of a person who stole your side panels. Ouch..

Hope he gets a years supply of magic green tickets..

I was just at MotorWorld (Lavender) a few hours back. I was looking up the Carbon Fiber parts. The MotorWorld guy was helpful and printed me a copy of the carbon fiber parts. So I'll place em here as stated:

ChainGuard ($50)

SidePanel ($180) - U want this.

HeatShield ($240)

Rad Spoilers ($100)

Rear Hugger ($160)

BellyPan ($280) - I want this... haha

Side Cover ($230)

The prices are nego, just need to see how he feels.. But he is a friendly guy. So its cool. If u order more than one part I think u can get a better discount too...

As for me, I just got a freshly baked GSR abs from Louis. And its a great ride. Though I need a little help from u experienced GSR riders.. (ty)

The question is this - Do you guys get a soft/medium rattling sound from 3-4k revs. (Before the bike picks up smoothly) And say around 5-7k revs I can hear a slight rattling sound again. Its softer around there tho, because the engine sound gets a little loud..

Another person also commented that we Gsr riders have an engine part that spoils really easily - Is this true? If so how can I avoid this?

Thank you for your comments.

Cheerio.

hi solisity.

i have the carbon fibre belly pan. it looks great but mine has already cracked due to the fact i went up a hump too fast.

as for the GSR engine spoils easily, that person obviously havent ridden a GSR before.my bike is almost 2 years old, with 60'000km on the odo, went up and down malaysia numerous times, whacking the bike over 170km/h, crashed once with a comfort killing machine (cab), self skidded and ridden very, very aggressively on 1 trip to melaka (i only got 220km on a full tank of petrol).

all i did was service my bike with motul 300V every 5000km, changed the air filter once and change a set of spark plugs. apart from the timing chain tensioner being abit noisy, it still can hit 185km/h with fully loaded 40L side panniers.

Hmm thanks. So I guess it's the chain rattling during the 3-4k & 5-7k rev period? If that is normal then it that would really take a lot of stress off my shoulders. (Tho any solutions to reduce/eliminate that noise would be appreciated)

I did go back to Loois Motors to check it up. The mech told me there was nothing wrong with the bike and that it was running smoothly but one can never be sure enough..

Thanks for your comment tho, pretty much I'm certain the Gsr can be tougher than it looks. If there are any "do's" and "don'ts" for the Gsr please let me know. I'm still pretty new to this bike and my bike manual was given to me in Japanese...
