Dear all bros...

I jusst bought my GSR for 7 months and lately i got a problem with the neutral gear. When i kick my gear lever to neutral, the gear indicator shows blank and the neutral light is off. For the other gears, no problem, only the neutral gear got this problem. It usually happens during temperature when the temp is about 85 - 89degress.

Anyone got this problem... Please help.....

Bro, gear indicator went missing/blank is quite normal. You need to remove the part (near front sprocket) and clean with WD40 but the issues will come again...no permanent solutions yet..

By the way, anyone got pics of the different windshield we can use?

hi there welcome dude.

yup i'm looking for a new windshield as well. bored with the last 3 Ermax i've broke so far. was very interested in the one from the Jap site but the price is a no-no.

Sorry for sounding long winded but you mean that the problem will just go away after some time? I have been monitoring the problem for the past week but it dosen't seems to go away. Just checking if there is any setting that I can perform on my own to solve the problem. If not no choice have to waste money to go back bike shop to kana chop by them le. :weep:

up to u to believe or try..... change ur engine oil. u can go back to what u being using or change to the one tht is 10W-40.

Bloody hell ... Just when I am about to renew my bike insurance... I noticed my stupid bike shop submitted the wrong bike model number for my insurance... damn it, they put my model as Suzuki GSF400P. How can they be so damn careless... (aarrghh... partly my fault for believing in them and not checking...)

Just called the bloody insurance company... they say system down... they'll call me back in awhile...

Not sure what is the implication or result when such mistake(bike model not same) happen and when you're filing a claim...

Anyway, guys... best to look out for any errors that the bike shop might have made...

To confirm with bros here, our bike model as stated on our E-logcard is GSR400 M.

Damn pisses me off when bike shop make such silly mistakes...

Thank you all for the responses!!!

You guys rockzzzzz. Let me think about whether to change the engine oil again because I just changed mine 1 week ago.

about the gear indicator thing, dont worry too much about it. if the next meet up i happen to drop by, i'll give you some tips on the gear indicator thing. mine is even worse, sometimes when i'm going 100kmh the gear indicator will just go blank. :)

Hahaha ... poor you :p Hahaha... look on the bright side... can cramp between pretty school gers...

Anyway, nice to bump into ya at West mall the other time... the rugby training really make you "bigger" now huh....

FYI... I spoke to the insurance company just now, they will make the amendments and send me the new policy... but for now I am still riding under a valid insurance because as per what the agent said, only the vehicle reg no. will be taken into consideration for validity check for claims, bike model no. is only for references. However, it is good to ensure bike model number tally on your insurance policy.

My current policy is expiring on 28 April 2009 and I just renewed just now. :)

Now waiting for Road Tax letter to arrive... $$$ flying again...

On the LEFT side of the engine right by the mainframe u should see the screw. BUT u have to remove the plastic panel first. Its the one covering the whole of the LEFT side.

Another thing u mite wanna consider is to WHACK IT OFF. Many GSR that has been riding it slow for some time would experience sudden low idling. It return to normal after a bit of whacking/clear carbon. :thumb:
