juz done my 1st petrol top up.....

218km = 12.19l of shell 98

calculation: 218 / 12.19 = 17.88km / L

that's very fuel efficient!!!!

Guys,

realized one bad thing abt the GSR. Stock mirrors tend to vibrate hard at higher RPMs. This is worse at night, where all you can see are blurry headlights behind you.

dunno if its the mirror itself or didn't tighten enuff.

Also, just changed oil again last night. Mech told me the exhaust header where the four pipes merge into one has started to rust a bit.

o_O WTF?

Barely one week liao. Luckily can be cleaned and lubed with EO.

Need to get some metal wax.

i want to meet up...coz my place very near west coast...but my GSR4 is still in the factory...in JAPAN.......

Saturday night went blasting with a few of my sportsbikes frens to Kulai.

Still running in so unable to exceed 10K RPM.

But at 9000 RPM, it was blast riding at ard 160 km/h

Funny thing abt the mirror. Initial acceleration will vibrate it until visually unusable. But at even higher speeds, it becomes usuable back.

Bad thing is, at high speeds, my neck becomes a target for the wind. When we reached Kulai, my neck was as stiff as a flagpole.

Otherwise, its a fun bike to ride. Light-handling, very agile at high speeds and very comfortable for me and my wife.

The headlight, I realized, is naturally high-beam mode. Pressing the highbeam switch does not help other than light up secondary bulbs and making you more visible instead. In Singapore, I have many times lighted up the interiors of older lower cars and receiving curses from them.

Just changed mineral oil again last night. Still got another 1000km before running is complete.

wildcard, hows riding in singapore and wats ur current petrol consumption?

getting better.

Ride's very comfy except at super-high speeds.

Otherwise, riding in Singapore is super-comfy and relaxed. Power-wise ok but torque there when you need it at any moment. Its perfect for Singapore roads.

Handling's light so you can easily weave out of trouble if need be.

Fuel consumptions getting better as I run it in.

Last I check, I clocked about 250km after using about 14.5litres (if the manual is correct).

So that matches Jerry's 17+km/l.

It improved significantly after I went blasting on the weekend.

Its coming up to the 1200km mark where I can start using up to 12500 RPM.

Went to motordiam to window shop for class 2 bikes today & was immediately caught by the styling of this cool bike :thumb:

Salesman quoted me $15.9k OTR @ 4.5% :giddy: with 1st Party insurance (TPFT $200 less) for 29yo

After reading the reviews by the bros here, I'm beginning to take a liking to this bike as sadly after much number crunching, I think the liter bikes are out of my financial comfort zone :weep:

If you GSR riders have an outing, may I intrude? Currently still riding my Phantom

The only thing that would make this bike perfect would be some storage space... dunno if H&B Junior can fit the GSR...

Mokette - must do more outing. kekekeke how bout this coming Saturday?

Kiamh, my wife said the bike super comfy. We tried riding up fast to Kulai the past Saturday. she mentioned nothing about the exhaust heat. The exhaust is actually one huge block of muffler like a cars with two small output tubes. The shielding work pretty well. Even after a long ride, touching the exhaust cover only feels warm.

If you ask me, the bad point might be the small fuel tank and conventional front forks. Otherwise, it would be a perfect bike.

Hopefully they work out the kinks for the K7 model :D

What about hot spots for the rider?? Any feeling of BBQ balls? :cheeky:

& one more thing, Wildcard... pardon me for being blunt, but the front number plate above the headlight looks a bit weird. Is there no better place to mount it?
