no problem. Intend to get the CF but then again, the pipes will be blocked from view thanks to the huge panniers..

So save the 200, get the steel ones. Add 60 bucks, n mix japanese engineering with italion. :deal:

by looking at the prices, i think i'd rather get the titanium....shud be lighter than stainless steel, but its still hotter than CF...wat i meant is end can temperature...but from wat ive heard, CF endcans will sound bassier compared to other materials...

I wonder if paste CF-look sticker will help with the sound hhehehe

It could be placebo effect. Only way is to do a side by side comparison.

But then again u would void the LEGALITY of the pipe. FAIL VISUAL INSPECTION.... Seriously looks matters. Even if u paste LV sticker over GPR tag. Still fail. Some bugger kena like that when i go get my impounded bike the other time. He was cursing like siao when he told me about it at the TP HQ.

With all the "white ants" out and in full force these days, its a $700 disaster waiting to happen.

honestly speaking, i dont really think this yoshi pipe thing will happen anytime in the near future. so dont get ur hopes too high. i noticed that most bikes with approved pipes are the ones that arent parallel import bikes.

just my 2cts.

then why put your name? it's not about whether a bike is parallel imported or not. its just two factors, whether the pipe is compatible with the bike and also sound and emissions. satisfy these two factors and voila! you've got yourself legal pipes. Yoshi themselves emailed me about getting them made for the 400 should there be significant demand. keyword here is demand. you give them demand, they give you supply. if you feel that you don't wanna keep your hopes too high, don't add your name. so if it doesnt go through, you won't be disappointed. my turn to speak honestly now. for a manufacturer to directly reply an email proves that they are indeed doing a feasibility study and are seriously considering of moving forward. so Yoshi is our best bet.

Well all I can say on this is that some of us have done our parts in contacting the manufacturers regarding the legality of pipes. And finally there is a breakthrough. While others just use the wait and see approach without doing anything.

Y other manufacturers do not favour this is because they do not have a 400cc in their countries to conduct the tests needed. Shipping the bike over to their country to conduct tests would cost a bomb if no one buy the pipes.

I am very positive with Yoshimura because

1. They do have 400cc in their county of origin.

2. The distributor works closely with them.

Its just a matter of demand. Makes enough noise, you will be heard.

actually I also like similar since GSR400 should be popular in Japan, thus they introduce GSR400 2009 and...

Yoshimura also from Japan.. thus Yoshi should understand the popularity of GSR400 for Asian than those ang moh.. hahaa.. :p

thus we should see it soon.. :)

i remember that when i email yoshi about the pipes. they gave me the standard reply that they had no plans to develop any pipes for the 400cc. when i emailed gpr, they refered me to GPRasia who told me that i should just fit the pipe for the 600cc and risk getting caught cos the market for 400s is too small for them to send the pipe for inspection. they told me however, i could fit my bike with the pipe and send it down to lta for them to legalise the pipe.

reason why i leave my name there is not to get my hopes high. but i too want a legal pipe for the bike. it was just an honest opinion.

read back and u will realise that i actually did raise the topic on pipes few months back. i fitted my bike with the gpr and sent it down to LTA to get it approved. apparently, all the guy at lta could tell me was.... "i think can la.. should pass". wasted my time going through the vehicle inspection and that was all they could say.

this is all just my 2cts. i don't want to get flamed. i'm just another rider who wants a legal pipe so i don't have to risk paying 700bucks for nothing.

So you should knpw how the 2 distributors operate rite? One juz dun care about consumer, wants money and the other takes care of costomer. Akra distributor also good, advice y must put on and risk paying gahment. I am the person that approch MW and tell them about WRS from Japan and they did bring the pipes in. Only problem, they stumble into some issue with LTA. So strange JMCA approved but take so long to pass here. Farnie LTA.

Paste CF sticker help wit sound? Haha..then it'll be the cheapest exhaust mod ever!!! but seriously, ive heard S4's LV carbon compared to LV alu, indeed its bassier....note, both pipes were bought at the same time..Even the their GPR has the same effect...

it all has to do with the vibration of the molecules...at higher temp, the molecules vibrate more vigorously thus producing a higher pitch of sound waves....at lower temps, the molecules vibrate wit less vigor...thus a lower pitch of sound waves...producing bassier sound....

Hahah...juz incorporating some science into the equation...

You've got to be kidding me....paste another brand over another is considered illegal? WTF??!!!

anyway dinie knows how i ride. but then again, soon will never see him on my way to work already..

Actually i do pity riders with side panniers...especially during jams...tat time i saw this angmoh riding a Beemer GS got caught in a jam along scotts rd going towards far east plaza...sumore hot + humid day...he wearing t-shirt and flip-up helmet...the guy was literally sweating like mad by the looks of his shirt and when he wiped his face...and the traffic was only inching forward...

That was wat i was told by Claudio of Gmax wen i enquired abt the LV at their booth during bikeasia...he said, "I cud sell u the exhaust and make a sale out of it but it wud be selfish of me as i know it is not legal for ur motorcycle. Do you want to risk it? wit the money you paid for the fine and an illegal pipe, you could buy many other things for yourself. Please think abt it." Even some bike shops told me the exact same thing...

bro, that's always two ways of seeing the thing... i personally think Yoshi answer may be very official, and professional. At least after reading, u wont have any hope on Yoshimura pipe. FULL STOP.

while GPR cases, give you some hopes ask u gather names, but things will go back to the square --> no legal pipe. and I read that many names had been collected over different period of time.. and iceduck actually get his pipe on the bike and go down LTA, VICOM??? wa.. this is the passion of a rider!!

I do not understand your statement. Mind carifying?

If you have read posts in SBF or my email reply from LTA, you will need a few documents to make the pipes legal.

Do go back a few pages to see what LTA asks for. It does not mean you can just gp dpwn to LTA and asks them to approve the pipes. Proper documentations are needed in the first place.

It is up to the manufacturer to produce those documentations. You cannot suka-suka go and do your own. And that is the problem. To add, unless you are super rich, own an emmission test company which is recognised by LTA and can actually approve exhausts systems. Then will have very high chances.

thats ridiculous. juz by pasting LV over GPR, still fail....a pile of rubbish.....

in any case, pasting LV, yoshi, GPR etc stickers over ur stock exhaust is ok, that i confirm...... if u kena summon for it, then u kena trick by the TP la...and the TP gain an up in his quota...hehehe

I mean for Yoshimura initial email saying standard reply that they had no plans to develop any pipes for the 400cc

so it will a FULL STOPafter reading the above email.. instead of like GPRasia asked to compile names again and again.. yet later no news whatsoever after that..

Yoshi second email seems like they know they are some population in GSR400 showing somehow they had known there are some demands (seems they do their homework??)
