oh great.. read this info too late..

my ignition key stuck already can't turn ON or even lock handle bar. Haiz.. looks like i have to tow to shop :( how much u guys think it will cost eh for that whole ignition panel or wat u call it... expecting $$$ flying soon

Dun pull the trigger too early... I am sure there will be a solution to your problem.

Let us know what happened... maybe we can give you some tips to solve your problem... instead of wasting money on towing.

First, you got to explain in detail what happened?

You got your key stucked? Or key broken?

I am assuming you try to insert your key in and cannot turn at all? If so, apply some lubricants... anything you can think of... wb40, GT-84... even cooking oil... just apply to the surface of your key and slot into your key hole... try to push in and out a few times and slowly turn your key... try to find the "sweet spot" by applying some pressure "down force" and turn... if still cannot, then try to put some force by "lifting" the key a little and turn... *note*... if you're stuck at handle bar lock position, try to use your left hand to move the handle bar slightly to the left and turn the key... or slightly to the right and turn the key... it's like Kamasutra... must try all sort of position and your bike will orgasm and finally bend in your will. :D

Good luck!:thumb:

Sori...itchy finger...need to spot. Hahaha. Oklah ya true wat Bro Cyrix says. It maybe hard at first...With proper lubrication like using KY, sure can turn one. Another alternative is Singa Oil (Sewing Machine). With the heavy rain nowadays, it is uncommon for keyholes to be "stiff".

NGKCR8EK:Sparks are stock GSR 400 cc. No harm using the below. Its a hotter plugs (Heat Range) than below. Its within the recommended plugs in the manual.

NGKCR9EK:Sparks are stock GSR 600 cc. No harm using the below. Its a colder plugs (Heat Range) than above. Its within the recommended plugs in the manual.

Read Below

BUT PLEASE DO NOT MIX THE PLUGS.

As for when to change, depends on people. I practice every year or 20k km. Whichever comes first. This is one of the parts that muz not save money. It can tell the current engine condition.

just got my GSR4 a few days ago, burning with questions for everyone. haha. hope to see you guys at a meet-up or DIY after 7 May.

for now, gotta clear my exams.

anws, saw the AS Phoon issue. I got mine second hand from Serangoon too. It came with H&B panniers which i have no use for. Ah Siang is alright I guess, but I think I'm going back there to ask them do valve clearance. My dad said something about tappet making noise. Thing about second hand bikes is you never know what you're gonna get.

If you hear ticking noises when you start up it might just be the fuel pump.

Its a suzuki anyway. They are known for rough sounding engines. If you are really doin valve clearance, do go to a more reputable shops that uses proper equipment to diagnose and set to the right mark. Juz my 1 cent.

Unless you are really comfortable with the mech and trust them.

Have a question for all the DIY bros out there. For a GSR4 k7, is it still an idle air screw, or has it been changed to an IAC stepper motor? Asking, cuz I might intend to do a TB synch while I have the tank open for spark plug change. Naturally, the easiest solution would be to lift the tank and view the TB for the screw or lackof, but was just wondering if anyone knows?

Have read that some of the other Suzuki models, they changed over to IAC motors on k7 and later, requiring the SDS tool to centralise the motor during synch of the TB. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

try this, before u warm up the bike, u straighten ur bike and start it or crank it. the valve ticking sound is minimise...

thats wat most of us do for the 1st warming up...

Assuming all the engine oil is at the oil sump when u overnight park. when u straighten the bike, and start the bike, more oil is being scoop up to lubricate the parts faster and better than slanting the bike when starting it...

try it..no harm done...
