Frankly i agree with motofreak. ABS is just an extra function and it really have to depend on how one ride. If u e-brake often than ABS is for u. If u dun and ur skill is like ROSSI than i suggest getting the non-ABS version. Though i am using the ABS version bike and it have safed me once, i still think that no ABS is better as u can really fly further when crash instead of shaking with the bike... Haiz....

OR u can take Razi's suggestion.

if u get the ABS version, i dont think you can upgrade to those steel braided lines. as what i observed from flareon's bike, the brake hoses dont directly go to the calipers, it'll go to a so-called brake servo bellow the tank, then it'll go to the calipers.

rien d'autre que le max.

I think can.

A fren has a Honda with ABS, still can install SS hoses.

Just that he has more hoses to install.

11 hoses to be exact.....

oh ya i forgot about the honda blackbird XX. yup, bikes with ABS can install steel braided hoses.

only it'll cost more. i remembered my uncle whinning about the $360 HEL brake hoses for his blackbird.

Correct.

My fren has a Varadero 1000. With ABS.

Quoted around that much for SS hoses.

Moral of the story is not to look down on ABS bikes....they juz cost more that is all. The fun and thrill is still there...it the person and not the bike hehehe.

Dear GSR rider bros .... I have a noobie questions and hope you guys can answer me because I am a new rider of GSR and still doing engine Running in.

I saw that for engine running in, we cannot exceed 7000rpm if milage is less than 8000. My question is whether can I go beyond 90km/h which in gear six is still under 7000rpm?

When I bought the bike, the dealer warned me not to exceed 90km/h and not to exceed 7000rpm. I am confused?

I saw the manual saying do not exceed 7000rpm, but it does not say the speed limit.

So, is it safe for me to run more than 90km/h as long as I did not hit the limit of 7000rpm?

Actually I have travelled speed of 100+km/h with less than 7000rpm, will it "hurt" my engine? I am so worried for my baby GSR. I hope I have not hurt it.

Please advise Xiao Di ...

Also, can I join in the rank of GSR rider ... I am staying in the West Area ... and I hope if I can meet someone who is a seasoned rider of GSR so that I can learn more from "Lau Jiao" ....

Cheers,

Cyrix

Dun worry bout speed. Just monitor the RPM. And no worries abt the ranks. Just add in your name to the list. We have no restrictions to bike model or what so ever even. We ride for the love of riding. The passion. As of now we slowly getting the group to inch furthur into Malaysia. Inch deeper baybeh deeper into Malaysia... :thumb:

Bro are u riding a 600cc bike? If yes than it is best not to exceed 7k RPM for the first 800km and not 8000km. If it is a 400cc bike than it is best below 4k RPM for the first 800km. than next 800 at 5k RPM then next 1600km at 6k RPM. after that is 3000km at 7k RPM. after than it is time to change to fully syn EO and whack the bike for the carbon to come out.....

Hey guys. I found this website in SBF talking abt the fuel consumption of bikes.

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=102319&page=5

It seems that the GSR400 consumption is the same if not lower than class 2 bikes. Anyone has this problem. Mine is like same as the Hayabusa leh and i have not played trottle yet.

Depends leh.

Some of the 400 guys say theirs hit until 21-22 km/l.

It varies and depends a bit.

Some class 2 bikes have better FC due to build of bike (Africa Twin has very low FC as its designed for endurance. DR650 is single-cylinder and meant also for trail / enduro use, etc).

GSR is more performance oriented. I'm not surprised it has a slightly higher FC compared to some models.

Let's put it this way:

Suzuki manual says not to exceed 10500 RPM between 800 km to 1600km of running in.

I made a supper run with some TLRs and CBR919s during my running-in period.

9000 RPM at 5th gear and I'm already at over 150km/h.

And I recall the Suzuki owner's manual saying not to just lug it at low speed but to rev throughout the rev limit allowed for each period.

So what does that tell you?

I stay at Jurong East and pretty near to several other old-timers here.

You can SMS or call me if you want to have a chat about the bike.

You can search around this thread for my number...

17-18km/l on a 600 here on mostly expressway riding.

I think its the weight. We both need to go get the DynoJet Stage IV weight-reduction kit (the rider, not the bike). I asking whether MW or Regina have or not....

I'm riding a 400...at best i can hit 23km/l which is during running in ah...now, wrist itchy...always need to turn a bit more...then more...then more...haiz....but still maintain 21-22km/l though. The distance is important...if too many stoppie, will reduce the km/l.

I think with a little tuning from PCIII, can get more distance. Think about it ;)
