Matter of factly..I have never come across this sound. Have to see to the bike than I can tell better. Timing chain don't produce this kind of sound leh.

Hello all,i'm new here. Mind enlighten me how to know to change coolant?

When the coolant in the reserve tank looks like "milo". Your coolant hoses are hard with rust formation internally.

I think it looks like the radiator is out of commission liao..looks like the tubings are leaking base on your picture. If you need help to confirmed..pm me and let me have a look at it physically.

It is somethig that has to be corrrected otherwise..engine block can be damage due to overheating.

Hi bros,

newbie here...

how can i know when the fan is activated....????

i dont know whether my fan is working or not...

Pls enlighten me..

thankzzzz

You have to ground the radiator fan switch to turn the fan on..if it does not, the fan motor is out liao.

thank Ah Pek...

But when does the fan kicks in??

Thanks.

It all depends on the radiator fan switch u have. Some ppl uses other bike model radiator switch (as low as 85 degreed Celsius) to replace S4 ones. The temperature varies from 95 degreed Celsius to 102 degreed Celsius (note that 100 degreed Celsius is boiling point).

Have to decide properly because you never know what its like inside a second hand radiator..could be rusting inside too and can leak anytime under pressure. With some additional cost..it better to get a new oem type. Unless this second hand one you know its a few years only and tap water never been use in it.

Rebuild or recon that gone thru welding patch is not really adviseable as other areas would leak because of rusty internal tubin too.

OEM ones is about $320-$350 for Vtec and non Vtec is about $250-$280.

Anyone knows where can recore radiator for bikes?

Ah Pek, I read thru earlier posts and you say can get aftermarket radiator for abt 300 bux. Any sample to show? Cos I asked rebuilt radiator downtime is abt 4 days. If can get new aftermarket ones then downtime would be lesser.

On your radiator left hand side..there is a radiator sensor fan switch..ground it to see if the fan comes on..if the fan comes on..that switch is bad.

You have to ground the radiator fan switch to turn the fan on..if it does not, the fan motor is out liao.

my bike also got the same prob.. somtimes the coolant resevoir boiling. so im a bit confuse with ur explaination. so how to know if my fan is wn swith is working properly??? so when i ground the switch, the fan on or off if the switch and fan are working properly??

It all depends on stock and availabilty lah..not everytime have. There is nothing to show..its similar to your old ones and its either Vtec or non Vtec version as the mounting is slightly different. The last time I help get was $350 for Vtec and $280 for non Vtec. If you are serious then I can help you find..otherwise, I'll be wasting a lot of my time just doing enquiring.

If fan is working..then its working lah...so is the thermo fan switch. In this case..your coolant hose are likely clogged with rust, temp sensor at radiator thermostat housing gone bad or the thermostat unit screwed liao..any of this can caused coolant to boiled in your reservoir tank..os can be coolant pump blades broken or badly rusted.
