just now went looi's motor to look see look see. Saw my dream bike vfr800 in a striking maroon red color. damn chio lah. :lovestruck: Damn tempting leh...

had a chat with the ever friendly mr. lee and found out the after sales service they provide to customers who buy their bikes from them. only then i knew they dun anyhow service bikes bought from other shops. Their prices may be a lil' bit on the high side but they guarantee customer satisfaction by sometimes providing free service on minor parts. he sounded confident and truthful enough. Anyone bought their bikes from them? and how's the feedback like?

wah vfr haiz for me it's a freaking heavy bike sial. can't hardly touch flr cos of e broad seat. my hubby used to own one and it's a v reliable bike.

although i not buy my bike there, i go there for my monthly servicing only. That Meng Tong guy is well known in SBF thread for experience & skill in troubleshooting.

not quite true, they do service bikes purchased from other shops. meng tong is skillful and mainly works on class2 bikes. very highly sought after mechanic.

mr lee's prices are usually on the high side, interest rate used is also high but other than that, it's a trustworthy shop to patronise.

vfr is a very nice bike. once the v-4 engine starts reverberating, the feeling is simply orgaismic. as every owner will tell you, vfr is very unlike any other bike (which is true!). it is generally reliable although there are some electronic gremlins to watch out for. only problem: it runs hot due to the v-4 engine configuration and side mounted radiators, and can be uncomfortable during slow/stop-start traffic.

Hi Bol'der riders, i have some questions i would like to ask.

1) What are the pros and cons of Bol'der vs the normal S4

2) Is the fuel consumption different?

3) Is there still new ones avail?

4) Is the Front fairing / windscreen filmsy?

ah long :

1) What are the pros and cons of Bol'der vs the normal S4

pros - good for long dist and higher speed travelling.

got 2 side compartment to put stuff

can hide e hella horns on e inside of e fairing

can use flushed front signal lights

and of course looks nicer hehe (biased cos i nv like round headlights)

cons - aft some time, e fairing may start to rattle (mine's coming 2yrs and still ok)

slightly heavier by 5kg cos of e metal frame supporting e fairing

stock mirrors too long

maybe slightly more ex

more parts to polish

more ex to repair if something happens to fairing

2) Is the fuel consumption different?

no! it's just another s4 w e extra fairing

3) Is there still new ones avail?

only color scheme

4) Is the Front fairing / windscreen filmsy?

nope

hope this helps

just went to HKL during lunch time to change my brake hoses & brake pads. Hel brand really make a hell of a difference.

btw, first time i go HKL , i ask them about prices of tires & other stuff - to compare with what I changed recently. I really think their accessories are cheapest.

Hel brake lines cost me $180 including flushing & new brake oil & workmanship, other places $220-240.

After studying the technical specs & SBF threads, I think Hel is better & more popular in SBF than Venhill, Spiegler etc. Hope I am not wrong.

i think the shops are currently selling the blue/white Rothman color scheme. Red/white retro seems to be no more.

Why not check with K3 when he is selling his Boldor? Coz his mileage only 6000km after 1 year. If he sell to shops he'll lose alot. Maybe offer him something better than the shops?

more popular = yes

better = not necessary

however, it's miles better than the stock rubber hoses.

$180 for front & rear & new brake oil & labor. Rubber brake hose will bulge when you brakes, so responsiveness is less than steel braided hose. But the bulging will happens only after about 20,000km for my case.

Maybe you should save your money for other mods or bike accessories first. For example bike alarms, voltmeters , armoured jackets, touring boots, Hella air horns to blast those lane hopping cars.... safety comes first you know.

Haha.. Thanks for your kind advise. Was thinking of safety first, tat why tot of improving the braking first then go to comestic or performance. Previously was riding an XJR and the stock brake is really effective. When I change to Bold'or, feel that the brake is very spongy and soft.

Pilot Power meaning Michelin right? Not sure what size u need for S4, it's same as for a Hornet 600? If so, u tried Alexandra Village?

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference
