so MC, seriously when u went laos... no change eo for whole journey?

cos for me 8k north thai... i noe for car EO can last 10k for they nothing to do w clutch... but now i asking some of my reliable mech they keep telling me car & bike EO different... and bike EO best to change in 5k even full syn cos of the clutch stuff...

how... can advise? thanks...

for my scooter, i use mineral oil. (duckham 20/50w)

change every 3000km

if long distance riding, i change every 1500km (+EO treatment)

serious 43k still no change eo. i used to change every 5k syn eo. now a little smart, change every 10k

hmm... after asking ard n reading... i think safer for me to change at 5k using full syn when I am in north thai... just to be on safe side...

thanks MC n pipi for info...

btw i just back frm a mech (he himself boss), he told me... OWS is not a germany brand... it is a local brand voltometer something, then brand w OWS then repack locally as a german product...

so their engine oil sux to core... cos it actualy a car eo... and their so called iridium spark plug can rust n melt one (i experience myself at 10k mileage)...

duno true or not, but i tried n noe abt the spark plug melt thing so its up to u wanna try OWS not...

btw i just back frm a mech (he himself boss), he told me... OWS is not a germany brand... it is a local brand voltometer something, then brand w OWS then repack locally as a german product...

you can change our oil at 20k oso wouldnt die one lar ....

just tat make sure your bike got engine oil ......

changing oil at 20k 30k may casue your bike to wear fast in the long run

other than tat .... got oil will do ..... no oil will spoil

i used maxima. then change to motul300.

can feel motul300 smoother when changing gear but few $$$ more.

a good maintenance bike will keep it going even after 10 years.

poor maintenance, even a brand new bike will fail in 1 yr.

is up to individual cos maintenance equate to $$$...

ya... think of changing every 2k in thai... but think abt their eo quality... i now change strategy liao, ma as well get a super good quality fully syn eo in sg then lun then 8k all the way...

maybe long dist travel is abit diff from local riding... cos i wil be riding for 600km a day for 18 days...

so now the verdict is... change every 5000 km

someone i know actually go to thailand and have his oil change to a 1K++ cc bike

and he got the info tat the oil was import from SG .....and he change it to his brand new bike

so far ...... so good ........... nrand he using is MOTU
