just wanna comment about a policeman which i encounted on the first of august at about 6.00pm

 

it was a friday and i have decided to fix up my dad's motorcycle and it was gg to go for inspection .. so i pushed the bike to the back of my block under the void deck where there is a shelted empty spcae to do some minor repair as i finished i started the engine to charge up the bike battery abit (to test the signal light and head light due to weak battery of my dad's bike)

 

just then two police officer walk pass and one of then a chinese staff sergant office walk toward me while talking on the phone .. and when he finish i polity asked him wat can i do for him .. instead of courtesy he replied in a rude manner as if talking to a conviced person and told me straight to my face that he can charge and summon me straight for 3 offience he said 'why are you here do you noe motorcycle are not allowed to be ridden under void deck,when you sit on your bike when the engine running WHERES YOUR HEMLET?, and you do it infront of 2 police officer' i tried to expline to him politly and he shove it in my face and told me to listen to him.

 

WTF wat type of attutide is this ? is this the attutide that our singapore civil servant should give to citizen of singapore? i have always believe that our singapore police is a respectable force but this incendent really changed my view

Obviously sticker is the best option as it is more long lasting but however, if you don't have the proper tools and technique to paste those huge-a**-sized-single-colored-stickers on it, no matter how you do it, there'll not only be wrinkles but also air-bubbles too. I've tried my best that night but i got really frustrated! I have to cut it right too and thats one hell of a job man!

 

I went to Ubi the plate no. shop (it is just directly opposite the Traffic Police HQ building only) to get my huge-a**-sized-single-colored sticker there. A few shops beside that shop there's this shop called Not Just Helmet, yeah i went there too to ask for a price and they quoted me like around $200+ like that.

 

Problem is that, i don't have such money to just pay a service for stickers. I so far trial-&-error on both side my shrouds for like only what, $25? Well in return at least i got some "experience" to pasting-stickers-on-uneven-surfaces.

Don't throw money to the shops. Most don't do a good job. Stickers are fun to play with. Since you can manage paint, stickers should be no problem for you. Special tools are not a necessity (improvise!), just google for some techniques and you're ready to go with some soap and water.

 

Try it. If still cannot next meetup I give u some tips.

As with regards to sypxchocolate's encounter with the PMS-policeman, here's what i have to say too in my part and point of view.

 

After serving my NS as a rifleman under the 6th Singapore Infantry Regiment (6SIR) and working with fellow servicemen from the Singapore Police Force in various key installations such like Changi Airport, Jurong Island, etc., i would like to say that most of these kinda people like the one sypxchocolate mentioned, are probably just "showing an example" to his/her fellow mates on "how to deal with people like this".

 

I have seen how their superiors f**ked them up like never before. Yes, anyone here maybe a regular but we all still take orders from up above. Even the Chief of Army, he himself take orders from another level of command. So whereas for that Staff Sergeant, he is probably some small fry instructed to go circle the neighborhoods of his area.

 

Here's what you can do in which i have experience it a lot of times back then during my Biketrial-riding days (see my avatar).

 

Should any policeman come up to you and treat you like some criminal, note down his rank and name. Do take note of the time and if possible, the vehicle's no. too. Just cooperate with him and at the end of the day, write a letter up to the highest command in the Singapore Police Force regarding this matter and demand an explanation from their organization to why you have experienced such things like that. Do enforce on the situation and also mention in the letter that you have just encounter an officer who has abused his authority(this point is very important!).

 

Secondly what you can do is to reason out with him and should he still "threaten" to give you a summon, just agree to it like you don't care and still enforce on your point that you are a member of the public and not some criminal on the loose therefore deserve the amount of respect still even though you have parked your bike at the void deck to do some repairs. Play mind-games with him, tell him to just issue you a summon and then you will instantly follow him back to his command center to file a complaint against him for once again, abusing of his/her authority.

 

Sorry for the long story here but trust me, it works. All you have to do is keep calm, and talk slow. Remember, never lose your temper! They, the Policeman and woman are the protectors of our country in keeping our neighborhood safe and what not but yet at the same time, they are not kings or rulers of our nation. They themselves have to obey the country's law and their own set of rules and regulation. For the army, we call this ROE (Rules of Engagement).

 

So brother, should anything like that happen, don't lose it but talk it out nicely. Should they still act like hooligans themselves, immediately, report this matter to the higher command.

 

Anyway tomorrow's Singapore Bike Fest 2008 event, anybody going?

Firstly he says that you are not suppose to ride under void deck. Ask him which eyes he see you riding? You PUSH to the void deck cannot ah. Then those cars park at PAVEMENT how to say?

 

Secondly he says you didnt wear helmet. Ask him you already told him you not riding wear helmet for fu*k? Then all shop mech have to wear helmet also everytime they start engine?

 

Thirdly he say you do it infront of 2 police officer. Ask him Mas Selamat also escape under their very nose and STILL out in the run. Now need US "civilians" to HELP them find the MILLION DOLLAR MAN? WTF.

 

Ask these bo liao police to go catch the proper theives... And please dun SLEEP in their Patrol Car in the Day at the Multi storey carpark.
