Hi guys, Help needed. I got my street legal exhaust Leo Vince 4Road Scoot online from overseas. I have got the Booklet with the E pass cert in it , Merchants invoice and the receipt for exhaust installation from a local bikeshop.

The exhaust is already been approved by LTA in singapore. so many riders have this exhaust on their bikes here.

But the thing is the bikeshop that installed for me told me that its useless that i dont have the "Company Stamp" from the local distributer of LV in singapore. LTA wont even bother to check the exhaust.

Did i seriously just wasted few hundred bucks to get a street legal exhaust that LTA wont even wanna inspect when i have the neccessary documents except the distributer stamp ??

Please guide me guys ... Thanks !

Cannot pass. You just wasted your money. Local distributer will not help you.

hi guys some questions here...

if i sell my approved pipe to a buyer(only pipe), what is the document needed for the buyer in order to go for inspection?

just my old pipe cert will do?

tks a lot...

Old certs and transfer name at the distributor. Distributor and advise better.

HI guys, if i bought a bike with an streeet legal full system exhaust with cert, do i have to transfer the pipe cert name to mine? or is the pipe cert tagged along with the pipe?, normally buy pipe must transfer name/ownership of pipe right? now buy bike with pipe, the pipe need transfer ownership?? sorry if question has been asked, cant seem to find it thanks alot for help =)

Tagged to the bike. They cant fault you. However, selling the pipe to another person would require you to transfer the name from the ex owner to the new owner. Bypassing the ex owner IS POSSIBLE. Its something your distributor will advise eg, making a police report that you've lost the cert.

this also mean still the local distributor are able to rip you off.....

but also no choice.. saw the exhaust selling online at US419 or SGD550 excluding shipping.. but local distributor are selling almost to 1k..

Haha ive seen more extreme mark ups.

hi bro , i have a few questions about insprection for legal pope o ask u i saw u answering to some question and i feel u are quite knowledgable about it.

here goes

1.i have just bought a legal approved pipe from a seller how can i get it inspect for my bike ?

2.do i need to install it on my bike then i go down to lta to do the necessary transfer ?

3.so do i go down to the distributor to trf name first or lta ? what is the correct procedure ? its a leo vince

the previous owner passed me d booklet and cert which he have approved on his bike but now i wana get it done on mine.

hope u could answer them for me thank u !

Step 1 = Call the distributor.

In your case, it is :

G-Max Race Pte Ltd

52 UBI Ave 3 - #01-36

Frontier Bldg

Singapore 408867

T.+65 63920749 F. +65 6297 5932

Email: sales@gmaxrace.com

Ask him what documents he needs for the (1) transfer ownership of pipe (2)Inspection at LTA.

Verify with what you have on hand.

Different brands, different requirement.

Step 2 : Bring the pipe and documents(required documents as advised from your distributor) and ride your bike to him, if can, since you are already paying for the transfer(price depends on distributor. Dont be surprised if it will cost $100), get him to install the pipe for you and issue you the letter of proper installation(WTF RIGHT) and whatever possible documents that you may be missing.

Next, ride the bike to LTA and get it approved(price will be +/- $80)

Photocopy the certs and keep it somewhere on your bike.

You are done.

Overseas purchase and approval for exhaust will be difficult to be approved due to the lack of local distributor support of compulsory documentation and administration.

Ive yet to hear that it is successful if it is, please share.

So if let's say I'm bringing my bike for exhaust reinspection, will they check on other parts on the bike eg headlight, mud guard & led lights or they just inspect my exhaust?

Thanks in advance.

It would be dependent on that chap at that particular inspection centre.

What irked me was how the vehicle inspection centre chap at STA Sin Ming deliberately tried to find fault with my stock and fresh bike when I went for inspection/assessment after installation of the approved Termi Twins. He said the number decal on my front was too small and he cannot clear my vehicle. After rebutting his every nitpick, I politely reminded him that I was only there for the exhaust inspection on my otherwise stock bike. In the end, he insisted I go change the decal before he can inspect my bike.

I insisted on getting my documents back from him, and I went off to KB Vicom. The friendly guy there didnt even look at anything else but my pipes and I was cleared within 10 minutes, and he still apologised for taking up so much time.

All heng suay one lah.

Hi bros out there!

Got a question to seek all ur advise.

Am looking at getting a new yamaha R6 model.

Currently they having a promotion that they will give akra pipe free with the bike. (The pipe is LTA approved according to them)

Now here's my question.

i understand that new bikes dun need to go for inspection for 1st 3yrs.

But do I need to do a transfer of ownership of that pipe onto my bike?

And since no inspection is done on that bike/pipe, what if i get stopped by TP how ar??

Cheers bro!

Yes you still need to go thru exhaust inspection after getting the pipe installed. They will give you a letter to go inspection think if date written on it. Ownership will auto tag to your name/bike at the same time. If you failed to do this, they can still summon you whatever exhaust offence summon they can think of. Sure you can try not to go but you will have a hard time explaining to the LTA or TP when being caught.

Anyway go inspection not that troublesome at all right?

No prob. Good luck. Remember to smile a lot and be friendly, but not overly friendly in case you come across as a bootlicker.

Heed this advice. Don't be penny wise, pound foolish.

Going through a little hassle is better getting into deep poo later.

Most probably you got to do it yourself. Better to check with HL directly.

Hi there, what if the pipe is not an after market pipe.

An oem pipe from another bike.

Say I want to fit the oem pipe from a triumph truxton onto my old honda.

I may be exaggerating here but say if I can somehow make it work/fit.

What then? Same procedure? How do I even get the paper works?

Thanks

I believed you know the cert have to get from the Exhaust authorised agent. They will also help you with the rest of the paperwork for a fee and then issue you a letter of inspection. Then you just go LTA for inspection.

It will not pass LTA inspection. Don't bother trying. Unless you can bring your bike+exhaust to a certified testing centre to have it certified to whatever LTA recongised standard. From what I know, there isn't such centre in Singapore.

If you want to try, just call 1800-call-lta to check the procedure.
