Heyos all,

Anyone knows any metalworking shops that does header polishing?

Meaning a stainless steel header has accumalated black spots (non-rust) can be polished and buffed by a shop.

Does Seng Kwang does it? Anyone tried with them and how much?

Any other shops does it?

Thanks

If you are willing to strip out the header, any shop doing the nickel-plating will do. Lookout for the machine that looks like a giant shoe-polisher, and usually done by Bangladeshis. :)

Mine is stock.

I dun mind the discoloration but its the dirt, sand and crap that hit the headers while riding and sort of stuck itself onto the headers due to the heat. Can't remove them myself short of sand-papering and I'm not going to do that.

I can strip out the headers for a day or so.

Have alternative transportation so can send the headers myself.

Any particular shop to recommend?

Also, how long do they take?

I did mine (full stainless steel header for a single cylinder engine) for $20, few years back at :

Meng Kong Electro-plating

Blk 5066 Ang Mo Kio lnd Pk2 #01-1407

Tel : 64810036

The actual process is probably less than 60mins but it took 1.5week because of job queue. I'm sure, with enough money on the table, you can hop straight to the head of the queue instantaneously .

I went back to that shop earlier this year but they were closed for 3 months, something like boss went on a china tour, and directed customers to his other shop in Ubi. I went all the way there, and was told they don't do motorbike parts.

Thanks for the advice.

Will give them a call and check with them.

Might drop by today if I get half-day off today.

Not wood.

Bamboo pipe.

The best mod I've heard in my time.

Increases both power and lowers sound emission tremendously.
