Guys, just to make clear all the doubt..

if i pass my 5.02 and RTT can i book TP date? or i have to clear my 8.01 1st?

You can book TP already BUT you had to clear 8.01 5 days before your TP or else your TP would be automatically cancelled.

That is why i am so stressed to clear 8.01. So you had to judge for yourself if you can clear it 5 days b4 your TP.

I be taking 7.01 this weekend.

Q1) What to look out for at 7.01? What are the common mistakes?

Q2) I had booked SP before my 7.01. Possible to ask instructor if i can train just my U-turn in the mini-circuit? If not, which route should i take in the circuit outside to train my U-turn so as to train as many U-turn as possible?

er..i failed 7.01 once cuz of wide turning..i heard for 7.01 they judge u based on ur proficiency at u-turns..

so if ur u-turn is ok and ur general riding is fine w/o major errors u shud be able to pass i think :cheeky:

went back for sp mainly to practice u-turn..

the same instructor Mr Ho helped me set up cones in the mini circuit and taught me how to u-turn properly..:thumb::thumb: good teacher.

so yes its possible, just ask for permission if there's 1.01-1.02 being conducted there

if really no choice, practice in the circuit outside..quite a long route tho, must go one big circle

practice u-turns near the s/crank course (turn 3) and opposite the office (turn 19) better ask an instructor to clarify ba..good luck!! :p

baby, u're my love..

haha, up to you lohh.

yeahh, both are circuit practices. but..

RC = got instructor, so he can point out your mistakes if you do anything wrong.

SP = own time own target. practice by yourself.

i feel if time and pocket permits, take RC is better den SP.

Cause when u do SP, u might be doing some mistakes that u dunno and end up become a bad habit. And by the time u know it, might be diff to correct it.

 what I did back then was SP first then RC and RR then Sp again then if you fear , RC again

yeah i think it is.

There are 2 important parts to the U-turn. The positioning for the turn, and the actual turn itself.

For the positioning, you're supposed to turn about 90 degrees to the stop line. From there, the actual U-turn is another 90 degrees.

Anyway, for the positioning, throttle on, 1st gear clutch control. Halfway through your positioning, or just before you turn, close throttle, clutch in. Coast to the stop line and brake with more rear than front brake.

From the stop line, go only when route is clear. When turning, throttle clutch control again. When done turning, pick up speed, up gear.

wooo~ congrats!! ur almost there :thumb: as mentioned above, really up to u..just be sure u have sufficient time before ur tp otherwise u'll be stressed to pass ur 8.01 in time..

since others have explained what RC and SP are..RC benefit lies in having an instructor ard to guide and correct u, SP is really good for building confidence and skill..imo i perform better on my own =x but at times good to have someone ard to evaluate my progress :D

ckoonyin has a valid point about developing bad habits during SP..

like jB did, i also alternated btwn some RC and SP, but i took alot more SP than RC..since SP is cheaper..sumore can fool ard more and no need wait for everyone else  keke

7.01 is road subject?

yeah..road test route :cheeky: they emphasize more on u-turn but they also judge based on ur general riding and judgement..

baby, u're my love..

Just a quick question: Before the right turn after the U-turn on the road, is it single bike or double bike lane ?

look at the lane marking on the road.

theoretically, if it is only a right turn arrow, den can form up two lane...

but for the right turn after the U turn, it is confirmed 1 single file.

How come 5.01 is pillion riding? i thought 2b only have one pillion riding throughout the whole course which is in 4.01 or 4.02? Weird, my friend asked me I went blur :faint:
