Is it advisable to buy pipes for people? Im afraid after I pay for the pipe, i nvr pass the inspection:cry:

When u buy the used pipes, u need to make sure the seller got manufacturer's exhaust cert and the Singapore agent's stamp on it. Make sure it is for your bike of coz. Then u need to get the Singapore agent to endorse the transfer b4 u can go for the exhaust inspection.

Note that yearly inspection and exhaust inspection is separate.

I could had gone for either spark or wave full cash, provided 2nd hand lah. But I chose wave becoz:

- onli wave can do 10L tank mod

- semi auto clutch; relax riding

- got e-start and kickstart

- cheapest maintenance - no oil filter or coolant

- biggest underseat compartment

Basically, I chose wave because it's really cheap to keep and really no fuss maintenance. I did my calculations and found out riding and keeping a wave is cheaper den using public transport. Also, most of the wave maintenance can do urself, no need go shop. It can achieve very good FC, which is why many despatch riders go with wave.

Wave is good for transportation, full stop! For thrills and outings, I go with my s4. But for a main bike, it can be a little boring. Vibration is very strong above 100km/h and personally, I don't like how hard the engine is roaring at that speed. So I usually just relax2 ride at 80km/h. I dunno if spark or 125z have that vibration problem, altho I usually see them able to pace my s4 @ 100km/h. So for normal transportation or sidebike, wave is GOOD. But for a more all rounder bike, u should go with spark. More powerful bah, better looking also and have many accessories in bolehland.

But bottomline is.. even if I am flatout broke, I will still ride a wave and won't opt to go for public! My SGD 0.40cents (becoz of GST :cheeky:)

Why Wave because

- Spark and X1r are too common

- yamaha parts prices are jacked up because of demand

- yamaha parts easily stolen because of popularity

- yamaha bike are stolen more than wave because of popularity

- Almost impossible to see a wave break down. (most of the time out of fuel of waiting for gantry)

- Honda parts are cheaper and infinite spare part.

- wave almost no chance of being stolen in singapore.

- if stock wave and dirt, less likely to tio summon. =x

- Almost impoosible to get speeding summon, bike too weak. (good for building self discipline)(the main reason why i bought a wave)

Young and stupid + more powerful bike = more accident/summon/risk of death.

Young and stupid + wave = less accident/summon/risk of death

You're not old, still very young.

Fierce helmet + fierce bike = young no matter what.

Bikers are forever young at heart.

Sprinta03 did backfire mod.

P.S i think he trade his wave for a DRZ... saw his drz on facebook.

wave dudes.. I am using 36T for my rear sprocket... can't remember whats the front, 15T I think. So 15-36T. The pickup is good but my journey to home and working place is only 7 traffic lights while 90% of the journey is expressway. Thought of changing the ratio for top end .. or at least the engine wun be so stress. Is 14-34T good?

Couldn't agree more with everything u said. :thumb:

On the other hand tho... I am really, really envious of the mods sparks and x1rs can do. Dey are really the performance bikes of the 4 stroke cub category (of coz, best performance still 125z..). If I were to ride a spark, I definitely use that fz150i's big bore kit to bring it up to 150cc. More power and fc still roughly the same. but spark's insurance confirm more ex, due to its popularity with p-platers, thus more accident claims by mat sempitz.

Another point is its price. Feel spark is vastly overpriced for a cub (of coz, not as overpriced as a certain yamaha sportsbike..). Most going for 3k+. Might as well add 1.5k more and ride a XR400..

somemore I noticed "tango papa" are targeting spark/xr1'ers nowadays.. wave dey dun disturb liao; guess this bike has this relax2, abang2 image :cheeky:

Agree... at first I feel that Wave is very ah-pek bike, then slowly realised that it is a rock solid bike and gradually found more and more good things about the Wave than the Spark. Of coz not saying that Spark is no good or Wave is better but I would say I made the right choice. :cheeky:

so long??

Im using semi syn oil with normal spark plug.

change once every 2 mths.

I travel very little lah. Now almost a year I own the Wave, I clocked less than 5000km.

Half a year I will change EO (regardless of mileage, wic i reckon it's only 2500km at the half year mark) and plug i use Denso Iridium (really can feel the diff).

haha, I can't afford to do dat lah. Travel up to 60-70km a day.. so for the sake of the engine, every 2 months go and change..

Since Spark is possible then is it possible to take CBF150 or CBR150 big bore kit for Wave?

hmmm.. dunno about that. becoz fz150's engine is just a spark135 engine bored to 150cc. but seeing wave and cbf/cbr using different engine, probably cannot. onli heard of cbr125 big bored to cbr150 engine..

but big bore kit for wave available by unique... expensive tho...
