Selling my month used under utilised Red colour Pop Domino(best quality in the market I was told) Racing Footrest with passenger footrest and rear brake steel cable line instead of the usual unorthodox method of welding your stock shaft to it, going for $100 as a set paid more than 200 because of the additional steel cable. Condition 8.5 or 9/10, bike hardly ridden also.. sms me at 8ll2399O. Reverted back to stock . Item off bike!

Hi Wave riders , I'm looking for the 2 pieces of metals with footpegs that are bolted where pillion riders rest their feet on... anyone has a pair lying around, please let me know (by PM) if I can buy it from you. My Wave S is 2003 model.. i think Wave Rs and i models pretty much use the same foot peg pieces...

I just bought an '03 Wave S for $150 but after changing every f thing in the engine, faulty locks and the crack fairings... (previous owner ride till no Engine oil and jammed up every f thing in it....the piston, timing chain..gasket... some weird looking parts in the engine...) This Wave now cost me $850+... and haven't even renew COE yet... nao hia (-_-)"

COE now $1774... so the cost of a 10 yr old Wave with renewed PQP COE is really about >$2600. Maybe not a good investment...I better guai1 guai1 ride it for a few years to get back my investment through the petrol savings :/

I used to think Waves selling at more than $2500 with renewed COEs was exp... now I know... :dot:

But it's a good investment to get a wave :D

Using it for work and despatch on part time :D

To ride on the road, You need skills,Stamina, or even luck.

But to be a good rider, you have to change with your environment, and adjust yourself to its rhythm.

Cultivate the confidence to face the different situations. Don't let yourself to be subdued by the environment :thumb:

Ya lor... me lah. If only change piston was quoted $300. I also changed many parts including 4 pieces of fairings and seat lock and front tire and pillion footpegs... total a little over $600. I thought it was ok lah... anyway... engine is smooth and quiet... just a little lack of power due to tight piston... after running in... should serve me well for at least a year I guess... since I know I have a new piston, gasket and timing chain :p

Waiting for COE to drop too... lanlan till end of Dec13 then also have to renew but cannot really go wrong with a Honda Wave if I don't ride it like chiongster, haha!

The only bright one you can get is HID, no other bulbs bright enough even for Nightbreaker if available..

Fellow wave riders! I'm thinking of selling my Gilera runner and get a 2nd hand wave for transport. BUT my friend told me about his and his friends encounters with their previous wave(eg, overhaul THRICE a year!, EO leak when never ride for 1 week!)

Because from what i know, wave is a durable bike and for transport wise, NO PROBLEM.

So what you guys say?

Posted

Overhaul 3 times a year = the person should ride CBR600.... not Wave.

Ride it like a little lamp and no need to overhaul in 5yrs.... EO leak could be gasket issue or nut not tighten properly. The money spent on maintaining a Wave is maybe 20% compared to maintaining a Runner. Period..

Can you tolerate riding 60-80km/hr daily? If you have the patience and don't ride it like a racebike, then in return, you get lots of savings in fuel economy... in the end, if you torture your bike, you torture your wallet and vis versa, if you are gentle on it, it will be gentle on your wallet...

Rider and bike problem, don't worry the wave is almost indestructible.

LoL why ride cbr? :p I prefer zxr and gsxr.. my wave never needed overhaul when it is well maintained under my care. Service on time and change the proper items. Indeed servicing is cheap but still many neglect it or try to scrimp on the servicing still :giddy:

Its comfy! I miss my old wave, still have some parts from it that I'm selling of :cheeky:

hi all,

currently my wave's headlight is not working.

checked bulb, havent blow yet.

checked the high/low beam switch, headlight still nvr on.

went to a mechanic and apparently he said the magnetic coil was faulty.

is this a possible root cause? i figured it had to do with the wiring maybe.
