i agree in luck, but i believe strongly in biasness.

eg, if u caught a young punk with spiky yellow hair stealing smth, u would probably catch him and bring him to the authorities...

and if u see a poor little girl wearing veri old and used clothes standing by the side of the road.... den u see across the road u saw a boy slightly older den her running away from a shop with a loaf of bread towards her.... and behind him is the a owner who shouts for him to stop... would u catch the boy???

i have ever seen cisco dudes give summon outside california fitness at orchard... only first 5 bikes dio.. e rest he never give summon... veri nice rides, aprillia... etc.. tbh, if i'm them i would summon bigger bikes also.... coz anyway bigger bike rider got more $ mah, so can afford the fine...

therefore personally... all this are biasness and its veri applicable in the real world... precisely why pple reply to girls veri fast as well!!!

Aren't u riding a "bigger" bike too?

I think of changing to 15w50.

10w40 too light/thin.

seriously u can feel any diff?? coz i use mineral oil and synthetic oil.. i dont feel any diff... besides i dont think our engine fierce enuff to stress the oil so much...

hence i rather use cheaper oil (castrol semi syn $9)and change more frequently... than top grade oil and use too long(motul 300v $28)....

my neighbour wave using the EO only $4.50 ...dunno wat oil..

usually this kind of cheap oil wont last long...maybe like 500km can change already...as he ride only to sch to bring his kid, he think its enough..

top grade oil can last longer and can take heat better...

i myself also using $30 per bottle oil....10w60...can last about 2k km

mineral oil change at 2k km.... no oil is lower grade than that. maybe cookin oil..

true that fully synthetic oil last longer and take heat longer, but does our engine rev that high and create so much heat and stress on the oil tat require top grade oil? i highly doubt so.

btw, fully synthetic can last u 5k km... but of coz nobody can stop u from spending extra cash...

but like i said, i rather change oil more often than use for long period, hence my selection for semi syn oil...

just imagine, per week u jog 3 times, each time 2.4km... OR per week u jog once, each time 10km. which will cause mroe damange to ur body? its obvious.

fully synthetic cant last to 5k km...

I change every 2.5-3k km. everytime left about 300-500ml... 1 litre poured in...

IMO wave must change more often because we are running on 1 piston.

just curious. why 1 piston must change more often?

This is my understanding (might be wrong):

If there are more pistons, the load is more spreaded out.

One piston = no other piston to share load.

Like all single piston bikes(e.g scramblers) are recommended to change every 1-1.5k km.

actually 4stroke tend to makan EO...thats y when u drain ur EO it becomes lesser than wat u put in.....

so many recommend to change ur EO often, infact is to make sure u have the correct amount of EO in ur bike..

becos the fact that most riders don take out the dipstick to check the level every now and then including me... :)

but when ur EO starts to makan at a faster rate and exhaust emit white smoke, u better start worrying...lol...

and 1 more thing, for wave, prolong use without sufficient EO, ur engine will start to have the "tick tock" sound. the same sound like the 2 strokes bike when their clutch housing is loose..:)

Posted

i guess thats the only reason why poeple add in more EO, lazy to check... abit more wont die....

i feel that if the engine "eats" engine oil at a HUGE amt, smth is seriosuly wrong with the engine. or maybe gasket leaking or smth...

how many of you here has this particular problem anywy? i change my own eo and i dont think i haf this problem so far.. yet..

this is interesting, where u get this info from? on a side note, if u use 1litre of engine oil, and after 2-3k km... u are left with an average of 400ml... smth is really veri veri worng....

Kups do "eat" engine oil for that matter of fact. It is the way the engine is designed and operates. The tolerance of the piston, piston rings, valves, etc are made with less precision.

Kups under normal circumstances will consume EO, thats norm.
