what is the air filter for ah ??

Aftermarket 'Hi-Flo' air filters are supposed to perform better than stock air filters. i.e. trap more dirt + allow more air into the airbox.

its in the material used for the aftermarket air fiters..

Stock ones uses paper filter, after the paper gets soiled enough..it will not do its job well enuf and hence the need to change for a new stock filter or aftermarket ones..

Aftermarket ones use cotton filters and low viscosity oil to trap a lot more dirt..Rewashable/reuseable.

1 simple example...

1) Take any paper and try to blow thru..can?? possible but the paper must be those brittle type and air that passes thru is low.

2) Take your t-shirt and thru to blow thru..can?? Yes and the air that passes thru is alot more and so is the dust. Den the low viscosity oil comes into place..its used to trap dirt and as u know oil is greasy and sticky so the dirt will stick to it.

When the aftermarket filter is soiled enuf..den the air filter cleaner comes into place. Cleans the dirtied oil in the filter. Once clean and dry..the same low visc oil is used to coat the filter again. Hence its rewashable, reuseable and to some extend help to gain more performance. :cheer:

Late model sportbikes are recommended to use the BMC air filter to the K&N's.. Especially for CBR1K..its reported that performance drop if switched to K&N instead of BMC..But dun quote me on this..its in the CBRforum.

OMG! What happened?

My IU wire was cut today 10 Oct 2006 in Haw Par Centre car park.

If you the culprit is reading this, pray hard as there is a camera there.

You will live in suspense for the rest of your life thinking whether the hands of the law will catch up with you.

I bless you to live to a healthy ripe age.

In exchange for this you will see all your loved ones die of tragic accidents and diseases in front of your eyes.

One by one you will see your grand parents, parents, children and grand children leave before you.

You will then lead a lonely life without any loved ones and be forgotten in an old folks home.
