hey ah fai, nice, you just got your mt?

i heard from my friend that went to kl with his MT he needed to pump 3 full tanks on the journey there and 3 on the journey back, and the bike starts shaking close to 200kmh.this proves that the bike is only goof for smoking people on acceleration!haha, the bike is for show,a head turner,if you need something fast, don't get one.unless you are willing to spend double the bike price on mods, because parts for the MT seriously don't come cheap!it's like an italian.

considering any mods for your bike?just checked with yamaha and the price of the akra slip-ons is still $3100 end-cans only!tought of changing my pipes.

i heard from a friend that he saw what seems to be a mt-01 at east coast with shorty exhaust, you heard of any like that?

hope to meet you one of these days.

Hey Ah Fai,

come on, do every potential O-one riders a favour let us know the FC.

it is a reality that we all have to face.

Hi dirtbomb, no problem I will calculate the FC for the MT-01, give me some time cause right now I am on reservice, and yeah~ I ride the MT-01 to camp, some army friends are keen to know what bike i am riding~ the sentry guard also ask me what bike is this~? seems like not too much exposure for the MT-01...

Yes bryancbg, I just got this MT this month, happy with the overall, only a bit high on seat, seat height 825mm, I am 175cm yet also need to tip toe on the bike with both legs down, definately afraid of car park due to tight space & protential of lost balance... :help: reversing this bike also a challange to me~ tip toe plus heavy weight... hoo~

But thats about it~ I am happy with this "angry bear", can feel the punch at any rpm~ :box: agree with you that definately a head turner~ not even my Harley get this treatment~! Park one corner & people start to pin-point the MT~01

I do meet some MT owner on the expressway when I was on my Harley, but never take note of their exhaust system~ :p

OMG~ S$3,100 for a pair of slip-on~! :faint: That is way too expensive, I thought they were just S$1,000 plus only

Yeah sure we shall meet someday, anyway I am the group leader of Iron Horse of chatter box, haha~ can find me there chit chat, cheers :thumb:

Yeah man~ not ideal for touring & definately not for high speed~ IMO I do enjoy more for the MT-01's torque & the overall "KODO" sound~ a very nice music to hear at any rpm

yes i have to agree with you that the bike is very high!mine was dropped during the first week of collection twice, once left and right, but now 2 years on the bike is still good!un fortunetly it is underutilised!but the screws are rusting!the mileage is only like 5000km!2 years old liao!time for some serious mods!you tought of getting a replacement pipe for the ex-up section?i want to get rid of the converters and ex-up!have not checked at any shop on price yet!

anyway if you are looking for akrapovic type headers, devil has one that is good looking!cheaper than even the stock headers,about1.5k,and it is just the headers,mid-pipes etc.not included, just bai swee one!no power increase nothing!:giddy:

mine have not been started for almost 1 month liao!:giddy:

and if you are hardcore enough, they have big bore kits, up to 2100cc!they have turbo kits!superchargers and even a nos kit for the mt-01!but i am considering getting some highcomp pistons and maybe an exhaust, something custom, maybe the yoshi dual tip tri-oval in carbon-fibre.should look good!if not will make do with gpr(got sound no power)!

I have not send in my bike for recall, now I ride the MT to my reservice, so most probably after my in-camp then will find time to send in~

My MT so far so good, doesn't have any major problem, very happy with the MT, I never take note of how long the fan turn on, but everytime I park my bike after ride, the exhaust fan will still on even my ignition is off, manual stated that it will last for 5 minutes... Any problem you face for the exhaust fan?

nope so far,no problem with the fans, but i don't think the fan really helps to cool the bike at all.if you want to make your bike cooler, aftermarket exhaust will be suggested, those that removes the exhaust casing would be better.there's no denying that the mt is a very hot bike!or maybe an exhaust wrap will do.

The exhaust fan is ok for me, at least can help to blow away the hot air a little bit, preventing pillion backside from chao-da, I guess

I don't dare to take out the exhaust cover, afraid that the pillion may touches the exhaust~ :help: Yeah man, the bike is hot (hot to look at & hot to feel ) My Harley do feel the same heatness issue, I think that is one of the characteristic of V-twin air cool engine.

I encounter once that when I feel the bike is very hot & switch to off, its more difficult to crank start the bike again... plus the exhaust fan is not running when the MT is very hot. I don't know why~ At first I thought the bike is so hot that the PVC of the wire has melted & short circuit, but next time round the exhaust fan is ok

Machine Price will be around S$22,000 or less.

Insurance will be expensive if you are under 31 years old :p

Hi guys, I have calculated my MT-01 Fuel Consumsion (FC) x 3 different pumping sessions (just to make sure I got the figure right).

The FC average is 1 liter : 18.7km.

I am very happy with the FC result for such a big cc V-twin. That include normal traffic in Singapore Road & whacking in Malaysia Highway. :)

Hey Fai!

Thats a very decent consumption for such a Big boy!

Saw a blue MT near Sims drive wonder if the owner is in this forum?

Might be heading to the Japan this month for work and will try to attend the Motor show. Want to see the Honda EV6.

Yeah man, I am quite surprise that the MT-01's FC is better than I thought of when I first calculate it, thats why I caluculate 3 times in 3 different pumping session just to make sure that its right.

I am happy with the result. :thumb:
