  1. This thread looks a bit old but i thought i would post anyway just in case anyone still looks here and is interested to ride into Malaysia, especially newer riders or those who want a different kind of riding experience. http://wmlr.asiarides.com
  2. Unless you have experience looking at engines and stuff, find someone who is to go along with you when scouting for your bike. Take your time and do not rush. The right bike will come your way eventually. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Interesting. Looks like using foil like an abrasive pad? Also this is removing rust. How do you keep it from rusting or colouring (like exhaust header turning blue) in the first place?
  4. I ride with all the boxes on my bike all the time. My pannier width are slightly wider than my handle bars which makes gauging a little more tricky but with practice it eventually becomes second nature. The key is to be patient with yourself and give yourself time to get familiar with your bike's width. Hug the tank with your thighs, steady throttle roll on and off, don't ride too fast in relation to traffic on your left and right, give way when you are not able to squeeze (usually 10% of the time) and enjoy your ride.
  5. Side track a little...how do you guys keep those shiny chrome parts shiny?
  6. It is for Saturday (28 Sep). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  7. Ride around Johor (not JB) to look for good food and photography spots. Meeting at Mandai Lake Road 7am and back late evening, possibly after dinner if desired. Let me know if interested. Text me at 98155287. All bikes welcome. Speed about 80kph. It is on Saturday (28 Sep). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  8. You can find some nice places in Singapore you have just a few hours to ride. There are places to stop for food or looking around. Head to Johor if you want to spend more time riding (e.g. 5-6hours covering 300-400km). It will be completely different from Singapore though. 9. Day 4: http://wmlr2013.wordpress.com/2013/06/19/day-4-kuala-krai-to-taiping/ After a wonderful day of rest, we were all very excited about getting on the road and exploring more of this beautiful country. So much so that we all woke up really early to get ready and pack up for the journey. How early? Well, the gang were already downstairs warming up their bikes when I got down to prepare my bike at 7am! I had communicated with the owner of the guest house on our planned 7:30am departure time so we had ample time for any last minute preparations. Sya came over to meet us and we had a nice chat before getting the details and loose ends tied up... Day 5: http://wmlr2013.wordpress.com/2013/06/27/day-5-semanggol-taiping-to-muar/ Day five has come in the blink of an eye and we now have two days left in this adventure. I cannot help but feel a sense of desperation and dread that it will all be over soon. Then again, live moves on and it is a lot more important to savour the current moment to the full than worry and dread about what will come next. So let’s get on with it! I decided last night that I would wake up early to catch the sunrise this morning at the lake...
  10. Hi everyone. As usual, here is a small synopsis of the trip we took around Malaysia back in April. The blog has been updated for days one through three. The other three days will follow soon after. Have a read! Route: http://wmlr2013.wordpress.com/the-route/ Day 1: http://wmlr2013.wordpress.com/2013/05/31/day-1-singapore-to-dunggun/ The beginning of a new journey always fills me with anticipation. There is a familiar mix of apprehension and excitement. This mix of emotions is very heady and one can easily get addicted to them. I am not certain if I am addicted to them really. But one thing for sure, I have a lot of trouble getting to sleep the night before every long journey. This one is no different. My alarm rang at 5:30am after what seemed to be a very short night... Day 2: http://wmlr2013.wordpress.com/2013/06/03/day-2-dunggun-to-kuala-krai/ It was still dark when I woke up this morning. It was very still and the room was filled with the persistent hum of the air conditioner. My watch read 5:35am…my alarm did not have a chance to ring yet! Oh well, time to get ready for the spectacle. Getting ready in any other place would have been a simple affair... Day 3: http://wmlr2013.wordpress.com/2013/06/13/day-3-kuala-krai/ After two days of riding long distances, we now have a chance to explore the town of Kuala Krai and her surroundings. This would be our rest day so we can start out fresh on our next leg as well. I have been looking forward to exploring this area a bit more…especially the river and the railway. We started the day early as usual and decided to head into town for some seriously local breakfast...
  11. No I did not. The model I wanted is the V7 Special which they did not have and do not intend to bring in. I also like the Stelvio NTX with the bigger tank but again it is a model they do not bring in.
  12. Wow! Many more suggestions eh? Keep them coming. I will update all in first post when I get to a PC. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
