Just got the bike last night. Absolute nightmare. The machine rear wheel seized after I disengaged the handbrakes. It was merely ridden for about 30km, less than 2 hours out of the bike shop.

Had to call the tow truck. Even the tow truck recovery guy had trouble moving the bike since the rear wheel was jammed. The whole saga did not end until 12+am. Had to drive down to the bike shop to meet the recovery truck to pay him the fees and get back the key.

damn...

................................................................................................................

The problem had been resolved. Managed to cover 100km of travel. Excellent ride.

It was a manufacturer's fault. Details not really defined. Bike was sent to Piaggio for rectification. Ready in less than a day.

I was not charged a single cent for the whole episode. The tow fee was also reimbursed.

All I can say is, AS Phoon has excellent and fast service. Piaggio also did not push responsibilities and honestly admitted their problems. Anyway, I have no time to think of the problem now. The ride is too engrossing to remind me about the problem. :)

While riding the Fuoco, I found that many people were staring at me. From military vehicles, at bus stops, fellow riders/drivers. Even at Kranji, a father and son asked me about the machine. haha... feels flattered to receive so much attention.

Glad to know that your problem is resolved.

Pleas do find out what caused the rear whel to jam up on you. Sounds pretty dangerous if it happens if you're going at speed especially when leaned over.

BTW, do check your radiator hose and make sure it is routed properly to avoid premature wear and possible overheating due to hose failure.

Ride safe....

is it true that the f500 is safer and more stable compared to two-wheel scooters? i'm planning to get a f500 sometime next year. maybe by then, there are more choices for three-wheel tilting scooters...

u can use the word safer but not stable. cos having 2 wheels at the front, the front wheel grip will definitely increase.

A black Fuoco was involved in an accident on the 19th May, around 1930-2000 hours at the junction of Marine Crescent and Telok Kurau.

I only saw the scene at 2030, vehicles were at the side already, chalk markings show where the bike was impacted.

Anyone knows if the rider is alright?

Chalk markings is not a good sign.

I have ridden what can be considered the best handling big scooter ie the Tmax since 2002. Main use is to play with sportsbikes in the hills of Genting. And it does this pretty well.

The Fuoco is almost as good. Its definitely better when the roads are less grippy with two front tyres. Its not as good as the TMax on bumpy roads as it has an inferior rear suspension system, and the front end suffers from what I call 'bump steer'.

The Fuoco is certainly 'safer' than the TMax especially when the front brakes are used hard to come to a stop. However, the tMax is more stable at high speeds, especially full bore and leaned over. The Fuoco has a mild and disoncerting sway at the rear end.

Its just too bad Gilera designed a good front end but slapped on a Nexus type rear end.

What would be great is if they mated the Fuoco front to a GP800 rear. That ill be one awesome scoot.

any owners encounter wobby steering issues so far ? wondering if local owners are effected ..

according the the link below, seems like a very common problem.

and a big amount of vehicles from uk to us are plague with the issue.

No problem so far. The bike is good. But in my opinion, the agent's workshop and after sales service is hopeless. Get the bike and screw their useless 'warranty', go do up your bike at your own preferred workshop. My personal disputable opinion.

Hi Magoo, my gf who's riding the bike most of the time is experiencing coolant leak frequently. Apparently due to the hose and it seems that there are plenty similar cases that precedes. Can you elaborate on your hose routing? Preferably with pictures.

Thanks!
