btw, juz a personal input for this saturday convoy

 

generally, i have joined u guys for convoys and most of the time it's not properly planned ... my apologies, no malice intended but it's more on the safety issues. even one that i organised for a slackrider member turned out to be a free-for-all, convoy chasing up the bridegroom's car instead ... even RDM got booked for speeding as a result ..

 

it's good that servo and tangolima have volunteered to be back markers and act on the safety aspect of the convoy .. but i hope u guys could plan one well before the actual day itself. a suggestion that i may render is 1) formation , 2) route and 3) particular duties ..

 

1) formation : arrow formation ; i guess tangolima and MrBlade would be far more experienced in this for they would have escorted vvips during their previous stints ... for us, we just need a simple one .. one pilot rider to lead the convoy , two riders behind ( left and right ) followed by the wedding car. ( please note : inform the driver to follow the pilot .. if not , you'll get convoy bikes chasing the car should the driver turns out to be a schummacher wanna-be ..) the rest of the bikers would follow the car in twos and last back marker would be one rider ...

 

2) route : in particular,the pilot and his two escorts should know the route well in advance and be alert for changes in traffic situation. in general, ALL riders should be briefed on the route that is gonna be taken ..

 

3) duties : the pilot , escorts, back markers are to be briefed on what to do .. and how to do it in event of any changes during the ride ...

 

hope it'll be a successful one this sat ....
