Can jump from 2B to 2. But not advisable. Why not get an s4 or some other 2A bike to get used to it first? The handling and way the throttle handles is very different.

im not cursing you, so please do not take offence.

some riders who jump from a 4stroke 2b bike to a 4stroke cl2 bike, be it 600cc or a 1000cc, can NOT handle their bikes. even if they say they will slowly get used to it before riding it hard, ask yourself this question. new bike, something you've been waiting for, power so much difference, so shiok! would you go 'try' or 'test' the bike? i think for most ppl, the answer is most definately a yes. even if you dont throttle fully, you know how much is the power difference? i jumped from a 400cc rvf to my current r6, and i can say i cant really handle that much power. yes normal riding is okay for me, but if i throttle a bit more to take corners and all, i cant handle it as well as my 400. imagine someone who jumps straight up?

the cost of dropping a new cl2 bike is NOT cheap. i had a friend riding a litrebike who had a slide at around 50kmph, bike skidded fer a bit. around 3k+ in damages. i got 2 other friends who had bad accidents with their litrebikes and had 10k in repairs. got the money to repair? why not just 'buy' insurance and get used to a 400cc first before making the leap to a cl2 bike? i think this way its really MUCH safer.

I agree with raven sp. The feeling is very different. Especially now that the throttles of the new bikes are so light and sensitive. An r6 is a very different feel and handling from a cbr150. Sometimes, saving that amount of money is not worth.

And think about it. Class 2 bikes are more expensive to maintain than 2A. My suggestion is to take a 2A bike. Economical bike is the super 4. I know it's common, but it's good. I'm riding one, and have no complains. Take a step at a time. Don't rush.

What father john and raven sp says is true, the jump from 150 to 400+++ is quite a leap. If you are looking for something really cheap, I recommend a Bandit, I just bought myself a GSF400P, got it really cheap, and I still need to get use to the power. Plus riding an auto bike really corrupted my riding.

If you ever want a test, just come over to my place! Where is Song weiqi. He so quiet now, no news if he passed? Anyway, the super 4 is also a nice bike to ride, my favorite model is still the first one, Project Big One. A really bulbous tank, no power cut. A real classic.

Cheers

I paid 2K. Anyway, not sure if I got big plans for this bike, saw some cool stuff, Yoshimura full system, Brembo brake system, K&N air filter, so on so forth. Just gimme a call when you want a test ride. Going to work on her later, changing all the carb manifolds.

Cheers

hi raven, well its depends on rider.. therefore i dont agree wit u..

i m 1 eg where i change frm phantom to 916 duke the cbr929..

love the duke too bad its return due to certain bad sales...

currently still riding..

so its depends on individual, no eveyone has the cash but,

frm 2b to 2a to 2 or 2b to 2, everything need time to get the handling.

its the particular individual sometimes could not back of the trill n excitment in the throttle thats where problem comes...

u burn tires no souls... so its self control... when u run in,

understand your class 2 bike...

so ,up to individual...

heya..!

well.. thats why i said 'some riders' in the beginning ^^

it up to the individual of course (i didnt say everyone ya?), but im wondering. what if something happened? just imagine that you just got your cl2 bike a few month or so, from a ta200/150->916 (a v-twin) IS a BIG leap in torque, what if you are not used to the power and throttled accidently in a bend? self control or not, can you handle the bike as well? if you didnt get used to the power of a 400cc bike first? you said everything needs time, but.. im just saying 'what-if'.. i never tried a 916, but i tried a vtr1000 before, it was like.. WOW. i dont think i can handle it properly if i rode it normally(like i always do) on sg roads if i upgraded straight up from a 4stroke 2b.

my meaning of buying 'insurance' is that u spend abit more on a 400cc, maybe not changing to a cl2 bike so soon, but getting used to the power before upgrading. some of us here are still quite young, SOME of us still quite hot blooded

anyway each person has their own opinions lah, i just lor soh abit try to voice my opinions, its really up to the 'individual' to think on what ppl has said i suppose..

hope to ride with u guys in the future!
