As part of the firm's contribution to SG50, he said the A bike will be sold at a "big discount" of $4,988 - excluding the Certificate of Entitlement - to Singaporeans and permanent residents. The retail price is over $8,000 for other buyers.

abt 12k on the road for this bike. almost same as other japanese bike of similar cc. so...who will buy?

those few that are proud to ride a made in singapore bikes... and my guess its that they will focus on commercial deals. Offer big discounts on the bike prices for large quantity and take over maintenance which will earn them more $$$ than bike sales.

"The biggest cause of accidents for motorcycles is engine vibration. The higher the engine capacity, the more the vibration. At high speeds, it's a very dangerous element.

at the end of the article, it said about rotary engine. wowowoowowowowo. my dream engine.been dreaming about rotary since i got my car licence years ago. wanted a mazda rx7. no money. but its a really petrol sipper. wonder how they are going to make a bike with rotary engine. i know of few bikes from overseas with that engine but all turned out fail.

Was hoping they will look into electrical motorcycle.

i remember reading here, somebody wanted to built electric motorcycles a few years ago. i am sure that person met with lots of obstacle: law-wise or even moneywise.

great ambition but i dont think he got enough support from ALL parties

i luv rotary engine too but if u understand how its functions, u will think twice about it.

part of the reasons why it isnt popular ever since it was invented.

btw do u know wat r the problems rx7 have? cant solve even till today with advance technology.

more the reasons no body want it. :giddy:

The engine apex seals which acts like piston rings on convention piston need lubrication every 5k mileage and if it is not well taken care , loss of combustion will happen and overhaul of engine is required.

In short, high maintenances plus high cost of repairs.

this is one reason, there r many more........if u really understood rotor engines' abnormalities.

eg. highly inefficient, overheat, suppose to be lesser parts n easy to built but more costly/complexity than a typical engine, etc.

also suzuki drop its bike rotary manufacturing long ago.

one germany co came out with a rotary engine for go-cart....google it.

super fast compare to 2-strokers but still stuck with minute sales.

I GUESS then the singapore company must be either brave, smart ???? to build a rotary bike then. good luck to them then

ya, i think e-motorbike has bigger potential than than trying to compete with the established jap/korean bikes.

to service rotary engine bikes... i think thats even more ex than your conti bikes (but i may be wrong)

i guess thats the reason, why there are not many cars with rotary engines? can probly count on one hand

basically no business men/women in their business sense will make sillypore their manufacturing site.

every businesses moved their manufacturing out of sillypore but based their hq here (logical business sense).

so wats is the guy intentions? too much or launching money?

his bike cost $5k, even for electric bikes if he do it in india or china probably half the cost n double in profits.

very fishy, dun u think so? 100 percent failure in his business study or other intentions.

only good run leisure fun. :cheeky:
