Hi guys!

How is everyone? It has been a long time since i participated actively in this forum! :cheeky:

Quick question, like in the title. My YBR125 signal lights light up and flashes only when engine is running at a high RPM. In other words, when i turn on the turn signal, it doesn't light up but when i rev the engine at a high RPM or when i riding expressway 3/4 throttle, the signal light will light up and start blinking. If engine not running at high RPM, the signal light would not light up at all. The battery has been changed to a brand new one but the same problem still persists. Headlight, brakelight, all everything is okay.

Any ideas on what could be the problem guys? Thanks.

you can start with the signal relay. Buy off ebay lah.

I dun know anything so I am guessing. High rev => higher current right? (my assumption). Sounds like electrical problem, maybe can try swopping the fuse, checking the replay for starters.

Hmm, i removed the signal relax and the connectors were rather rusty. I went to WD-40 the crap out of it and wire brush the connectors. It seems fine now, but i need to take it out for a spin to be sure. Will update you guys in due course. Thanks!

Dont think so. Problem came back though. You think i can buy a new relay and everything settled? Or does anyone know how to check a relay with a voltmeter?

Not too sure what is wrong but usually it is the battery. Since you said that you have changed to a new battery then I would suggest monitoring the voltage of the battery before and after rides. Also check the wiring of your bike. Sometimes this could be the cause of some loose wiring. There maybe other major problems causing this but it would be better to start with the nitty gritty possibilities first. What was the last thing you replaced/added before this happened? Just start from there.

Or go borrow one relay from another bike just to test. How's your charging eh..? I would first check the voltage at idling when the signal lights aren't working then rev the engine and see the voltage when the signal lights ARE working.

Fyi u use the ammeter to check the relay and not volt meter. But u need a 12v supply to short to solenoid and check if your be got continuity across the other 2 pins. Maybe YouTube will give u a clearer picture.

Voltage at idling and revving is fine. It could be the wiring though. Sometimes the light flashes, sometimes they dont, and this happens randomly. Hmm...
