I have a problem which i don't know if its is a problem. Whenever after a long ride and when i reverse my bike, there is a 'wong' 'wong' 'wong' sound coming out from the back. Not too sure came from where. But sound like metal rub with somrthing. But only will the bike is hot. and only reverse. One of the rider riding same bike also have this problem. He service and the person no problem with the bike. So we are wondering any one out there have this problem?

sound like coming from your rear brake calipers.

reason why it only happens when it hot is because metal expands when hot and there is slight rubbing between the brake pads and disc.

You can clean the carbon on the rear brake piston and see if it helps. Get those brake calipers cleaner spray if you dont want to get your hands dirty.

Hi, I experienced on my dyna but when cold & forward slow moving and I suspect belt against the pulley side wall cause the noise, the little noise goes off after I rub some candle (wax) on both side of the belt.

 

you may want to check whether yours is the same problem. (not exactly problem but just want it to be perfect lah...)

 

some how, I change to SE to get the exhaust note louder but cannot bear with the little noise LOL

hmm if one "wong' is no so bad. but if the whole family of "wong" stay then that will be a super big problem.

I think it's from the belt. I've read in the XL forum that some riders spray a little bit of S100 corrosion protector on the belt. I do too.

HDS said my belt was too tight so cuased the noise...they serviced it but then the sound came back...if it's not harmful, i've no problem with it but just worried it will cause damage...

 

next service i will make some noise again.... 8 )

i think its because after long ride, the brake pad accumulates carbon dust... i got tis sound with my front brake pad which my mechanic at the dealer says can resolve by cleaning the brake pad.

Here's a new one. I get a squeeky sound from my forks sometimes. I think it happens more often after it rains. Everytime I go over a hump of some kind, *squiggy!* like a soft toy. Anyone?

lesser one being most likely your seal dirty thats all (happen to me before)..serious being your seal worn out badly (happen to me too, my Suspension Fork Boot Covers has a hole due to rusting, and after checking by my mechanic, found that the seal is seriously worn out)

Just went servicing my bike. Found that there is a nail in my rear tire. Hole too big to mend, have to change the whole tire and that cost mi $350/-. So unlucky.

Harley own inhouse tyres loh. and its expensive. Got any other source? imagine that just on the road for one mth and your tyres got a 20cm nail stuck. so sad
