find the link clip and use a flat-head screw driver to 'unclip' it, no special tool needed unless u need to shorten the chain.

if the entire chain is riveted with no connector-clip then hav to use the 'special tool' to unrivet one of the chainlink. but so far havent come across such chain except chainsaw :D

if the link-clip is not damaged/bent in the process of removing and putting back, it should be as good as b4 removing. the chain connector-link shoudnt come off easily. the clip has a direction to 'follow'. jus remember the position b4 removing. i always take a photo of wat im going to remove wif my hp.

Many integrated chains come without master link (they are supplied in a complete loop). These are much better in quality then those with a master link.

For these type of chains, the rear wheel needs to be removed before the chain can be taken off.

actually the connecting link is the weak link in the whole chain. If you read from the chain installation guide on the box of the chain, it would recommend the rivet link instead of the clip link. I have seem somebody with the clip flying off at high speed.

Then if the construction of the swingarm is one that needs the chain go thru part/gap of the swingarm? Cut the swingarm? :cheeky:

The special tool is known as a chain breaker..:cheeky:

if chain has O-rings or watever X,Y,Z rings... kerosene or petrol will deteriorate the rubber... it has been discussed b4 in other threads

i was jus joking abt wat X,Y,Z ring... haha.

there are those without o-rings and those with O-rings or X-rings. O or X-rings r rubber rings which r embedded into the chain to retain lubrication. of cos O or X-rings r more expensive.
