I've used the R-Pha 10, R-Pha 10+ and am now using the R-Pha ST. In the past i've used the FG-15 and the older lower end models no longer in production.

I have never used shoei or arai so i cannot give a comparison.

i've never had any reliability issues with any of the hjc i've used. The R-pha 10 is used by motogp riders so it should rank right up there with shoei and arai. what i like most about the r-Pha is that it is super light and compact. its visor is the most anti-scratch of all the brands i've ever used. and to top it all off, its several hundred cheaper than an equivalent shoei or arai.

my suggestion is try on the helmets at the shop and select the one that fits your head better. just search the net to find out how to feel for a good helmet feel.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

I am still using a HJC AC-11 after many many years, outlook still looks good.

HJC's high-end is cheaper than Shoei's middle-range, so price wise I would choose HJC.

Both got Snell/ECE certified so both are safe enough.

Ultimately, the important thing your head fitment with the helmet. Best helmet in the world but fits like s*** also useless.
