Projector head lamps are lamp casing tt are veri veri small & light beam projected are veri veri veri focus unlike multi-flex lens tt thrown light beam more widely ouwards. HID-High Intensity Disharge systems are just veri powerful automotive lights, veri veri powerful using veri veri little wattage 35w. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Basically all HIDs bulbs are of the same format, they just come in different mounting type & light point - H1, H3, H4, H4HL, H7, HB1, HB3, HB4, HB5 & now HS. Any bulbs type can be made into HIDs systems. :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

We have been using a old HID system for the last 6 years now..... :lovestruck: :lovestruck: :lovestruck:

I just called limbat enquiring abt the converter system for HID and ballast. he said that converter system's lifespan is more unpredictable. usually lasts a year, tat is y the 1 yr wrty. anyway, motor world is selling the conveter system. so u may wan to reconsider. $480 for a pair of H7 converter system including installation with 1 yr wrty.

anyway, limbat, thanks for helping me out always. i will treat u to msia seafood someday!! :cheer: :cheer:

Light bulbs in general have a life span - to answer yr difficult question is

like asking when are we going to die........... Haizzzzzzzz

Many many factors are involved - quality, proper installation, operating

enviroment & duration of application .............. hope this helps ....

:giddy: :giddy: :giddy:

And like I said - We have been using a first generation HID system for

the last 6 years, now it is install in a truck & still working perfectly.........

 Hi Mr limbat, i have an enquiry, my bike has 2 H4, 55watt bulbs, the bulb has 2 functions, low & high beam in a bulb, can i change the high beam to HID while still retain the low beam function
Posted

Yeap, if U install the 2 HIDs H4 wif high/low beam, but onli the low beam is HID - high beam is still a Halogen. But for bikes - we recommend 1 side HID & 1 side halogen - this way it is half the price & HID on 1 side is more than enough light for yr needs.................. :hungry: :hungry: :hungry: :hungry:

hey........ NP ........ pls give me a call 93891138, we can work out something

for U. Pls understand HIDs system need proper high tension wires & concealed

connectors.

Best place to install the ballast is in the rear seat, so wire harness have to

be long enough - our bike HIDs set are spec wif 1 meter of high tension wire

harness.

A very happy Lunar New Year to U & all at SBF - may all of U get to live yr

Dreams in the Year of the DOG.

Well, both the HID & Halogen can be High & Low Beam type. If U hv the budget

to install 2 HIDs - then fine. We really think 1 HID is more than enough.

In reply to yr earlier question - yes U can have the High Beam as HIDs & Low

beam as Halogen, by reversing the 2 wire but our HIDs H4 HL already comes

spec as High Beam as Halogen & Low Beam as HIDs. So yr lights may be out of

focus - if U insist on the reverse method, which is alright anyway as the HIDs are

much brighter than the Halogen. ....... LOL ......

here's my opinion on HID. And this is wat im going to do.

usually, u need to on the main headlight switch b4 u can on the high beam.

halogen bulbs are 60/55watt as spec. meaning 55watt normal light and at the same time able to act as high beam, i.e 60watt.

for my case, i have 3 light bulbs, 1 main and 2 high beam bulbs. after installing HID, i on my high beam all the way as headlight. BUT, i will on/off my HID with an external switch to control the main headlight. which means now HID acts as high beam for me. and when im in msia, i will on the HID and disable my high beam.

for R1's case, the main pair of headlights are at 55watt and will shoot up to 60watt when high beam is on. my suggestion is tat, fix one of it as HID with an external switch. when u meet up with rd block or anything, off the HID, and on the normal bulb as headlight. although is an ugly one eye jack, but i tink thats the trade off for the HID.

anyway, when u on the HID, and when im in the front, i wont be able to see the shape of ur bike at all, i just see a single bright light during the nite. this is wat i experienced with LIMBAT's bike behind me. totally awesome.

No more regrets.

the ballast unit is abt 15cm by 12cm and 2.5 cm in thickness.

this is an overstatement, it might be smaller den this. luckily my rear seat is big enough to hold 2 of these which means i can fit 2 HID safely. but den again, 1 HID is really enough.

i do not haf the HID with me now. going to do it after chinese new year, after my ang bao money.

however, u can haf a look at Neo's HID.

I suggest u go to Limbat's shop and see his life demo of his bike's HID in the day need to exaggerate becoz in the day, it is already very bright. u wont find ur trip to his shop a waste becoz its worth the trip, u get to see and learn alot.

and yes, his HID can hit a distance of more den 10 story. :thumb: upz for limbat's HID.

No more regrets.
