It's a difficult decision. Speed Triple is still the king of nakeds. But the Zed is not bad either. Argh ....

gahhh!!! u had to rub it in..

wait.. maybe I cn still salvage the situation..

ill see wat I can do on the day of collection..

u can forget abt having a nego on the day of collection.

once its a done deal, papers signed and bike exchanged, engine started.

the only way to salvage is to cancel the bike order.

NOW.

the rest of the mordid details we speak about it offline.

I disagree too.

Its the K1300R

173hp (127Kw) and 140Nm of torque

which naked has better performance can be king :)

German magazine Motorrad has the most thorough and scientific testing procedures in the automotive testing field. They recorded consistent 0-100km/h times of 2.9 seconds for the K1300R, 0-140km/h in 4.3 seconds and 0-200km/h in 7.9 seconds.

Yeah I'm talking about the whole package, not just how fast the bike is. That's just ONE of many factors involved ..

Anyway .......................... at the end of the day, to each his own :) Buy and ride what we love :)

What's the fuel consumption like on the Speed Triple?

I get about 210/220km avg on full tank , by than light comes out.

Full tank is bout est 17ltrs

Mine is a full system low boy arrow n it's very torquey with lots off popping wen downshifts n deaccelarating from high speed.( which I love every bit of it till I get my migraines) lol

That's pretty OK I guess .. considering the full system and the way you ride (or stunt) :p The Z1000 only gives 11.5KM per L .. in stock form.

Sometimes ....

Still being impressed by my bike. This is after 1.5 years of riding it........great bike for the role it has to play, which is.

Commuting everyday in endless streams of traffic , in rain and under the sun / moon. I wonderhow I have still got a driving license.

Awesome.

Saw a great sight the other night outside NEX at Serangoon. A chick riding a 1000 fireblade ( white ), on tip toes at the lights and launched it in a wirlwind of sound and power......nice one girl!

Yes bro, I've checked with Z1000 owner .. that's a sad and shocking truth .. :(

Nobody mentioned this in the reviews. I thought I've found my next bike. But I'm back to square one again. So seriously looking at the new Speed Triple now .. the new Z1000 is really bang for the buck.

Looking at the new Speed Triple, there aren't really much choices when it comes to colors .. only got white, black and red. What happened to green and yellow?? Bold bikes like this should wear bold colors!

The white is nice but .. it's gonna be a pain to keep it tip top. Black is .. well .. too black. The red ... I dont know .. got to see it in flesh to decide. I'm still waiting for the next batch to come into the showroom.

If the situation goes on like this, what the heck, I might just keep riding my Street Triple until another bike stirs my heart.

The Zed with pipes n pc gives it better consumption. Put taller gearing even better. Can hit 16km/l.

Hehe Kaoiwas is here to pull me over to the dark .. or rather GREEN side ....

Bro, is the pre 2010 Zed like that also? All the while not having good F/C?

11 km per litre is a luxury compared to my old V Max.......that was around 8 !

I would stick with the Striple Yohji.

Its a damn hard bike to beat in all aspects. Saying that, I understand the power of desire and when I do see a new bike like the Zed thou or Speed Triple it kind of twists your arm ( and bank balance ).

I only ride my bike for commuting, I am at work for about 70 hours a week and the rest of my free time is taken up by my wife and kids, so when I think about squeezing a Zed Thou through the middle of taxi's and trucks in the rain at night...its suddenly not an ideal choice.

I will keep my bike until I have to leave your sunny shores ( again ). I would like to take it home to Thailand with me, but believe me, its more hassle than its worth.

Hi for those of you who are interested in the Sargent Seat for your Speed or Street, there is a company that can bring it for you from the States at a real good price. Company is Autocom (Tel : 66590661). For example, online price for the Street seat is US$409 without shipping. This company will only charge you $550 (Sing dollars) shipping and GST inclusive.

The average for Gen 2 and Gen 3 is 14-15km/L. But ALL big il4s that are tuned for torque gets that kind of consumption. In comparison, my previous GSXR1000 gave me a steady 18km/l no matter how I rode.

If you compare with any Fazer besides the FZ8, their power comes in above 7000rm and red line is way higher. Low torque in the low and mid but high hp once the revs get up. All the zeds from Gen 1-3 have much much better low-mid torque than any Fazers, meaning better for the street. The FZ8 is tuned for low-mid but 800cc.
