Price depends on the condition. You may buy even for around 3k but then will have to spend as much to make it work

Mean offroad machine.

whao i had no idea it would cost so much.. would it be better to change to road tyres so that it ll be easier to ride on the road? cuz mainly i want to use it for transport but i want a scambler.

No Key , no 2t pump ,jerky ride in low rev ,rock hard seat ,no engine oil dip stick, easiest and most stolen scrambler ,expensive parts ,freakin hard kickstarter that can ruin yr trackshoe

if u dont mind all these can ride as transport .

It can be used for transport, otherwise it wouldn't be road legal. But it's not meant to be used for transport, that is everything in the design of the bike was meant to make it off-road competition bike, and nothing - a comfortable everyday ride.

If you change to road tyres, it will be safer to ride, but not easier. Why? Look again at the deryiu post

If you want a nice road bike - scrambler, then I would recommend XR125 for 2B and DR-Z400 for 2A

WR2 will be a better choice for daily transport and light offroad. If you do mind the 2T smells i would rather you get a 4-stroke scrams.Less maintenance.KTM scrams is meant for competition usage, wear and tear will be much higher if you plan to use it for daily transport, unless you have "deep pockets".:)

KTM make the best Enduro bikes in the world. But you have to remember that they are designed as race enduro bikes and not for for everyday transport. (Try Honda if this is what you want)

If you use the wrong thing for the wrong purpose you are bound to suffer. You will probably end up complaining about **** fuel consumption, always break down, cost a fortune to service etc. Many newbie riders who buy KTMs do this and then spoil their reputation. In addition, due to lack of money and trying to cut costs they don't service the bike properly and end up selling it to some other poor sod newbie who will get a piece of crap bike and have to spend a fortune on it before realizing the same thing and continuing the trend.

If you're new to biking buy a cupcai (Spark 135) or a CBR150 and get some experience riding. After that, if you still want a KTM buy one as your weekend bike and use it for what it was designed for... OFF ROAD.

Otherwise you will look cool for a short while until you end up broke or dead. But anyway, you're probably just like most newbies who will buy one anyway and learn the hard way. Good luck.

haha... yeah... and I believe the guy who owned it in between myself and you also took good care of it and never rode it daily. Anyway, it's great to see that it went to the right kind of owner who uses it for the right purpose and didn't just buy a KTM coz it looks cool.

I just hope my knee heals fast so that I can finally get back to riding. My current KTM is still sitting in the carpark unridden... so sad.

actually im a newbie too. got a ktm after i passed my 2b. but i dun use it for transport. uncomfortable, expensive. tried pillioning GF once (within school). She complain like mad. now it just sits under the shaded carpark using it for the occasional 1 min ride to class or supper nearby. offroading on it feels really fantastic, but on the roads, the BBDC bike feels way better. (though it doesnt look a fraction as good) agree on the sports bike option. it would be great for looks and transport. then again if u really love scrams, y settle for a sportsie, u will just go green eyed everytime u see another scram. get a honda xr 125 or 200. great dual use. trail+transport.

chris, hope u can recover quickly and get back to your ktm soon. really feel like upgrading my suspensions, changing plastics and install full fmf sys but then ill be going to US soon for half a year. dunno if i should sell it.

I'm slowly getting better. I can pretty much walk normally now so I have to focus on regaining my strength. Though I'm yet to see what the MRI results are and the docs advice.

As for your bike, if it's only half a year I'd probably keep if since the bike is in good condition and you know the issues it has. Selling and buying a new (2nd hand) bike when you return means that you will have to start troubleshooting all over again. Unless you can buy a new or near new bike as a replacement.

Anyway, all dirt bikes get trashed when ridden off road and are in constant need of parts being serviced/replaced so I'd rather do mine up over time. It's more satisfying also. That's one of the reasons I chose an older KTM again rather than buying something all bling that will only get more trashed as I own it.

:p

so true. got sick of the silver. not sure y ktm chose silver with orange. BLINDed by the sick colour combi.

but i desperately need a taller fork. maybe more worth it to get another one than to buy and sell and install new forks and rear shocks.

wanna try the tuas track and i think ill just bust my short forks on the track.
