Am afraid I will be losing touch with riding the CBR1000RR on the track when I go back for holidays. Am getting more daring to push the DRZ simply becoz I ain't afraid of crashing it but not with the CBR. That will cost me alot of $$$$$

Not all shops carry the oils you want, kind of sparkies you prefer, or type of sprogs you like. Usually I source out these things myself and go to any bike shop to have them change for you. Just pay for labour. It's cheaper this way.

i also like the way they replace the clutch & brake fluids over there

The States have finally been bugged by the stator problem..Here's a thread from the cbrforum.com

 

Looks like, we may have found the cause for stator failure..Pls read up. Its about maintaining 5K rpm and above to have the stator/coil to charge optimally. Below that, the coil is overworking..hmm?? Sounds feasible..In Singapore, with the stop and go traffic..we don't go above 5K rpm at all unless we want to sound like we're dragging thru the gears and going pass the road speed limit. I usually change up in the 3.5K to 4K range..

 

Tashi..wat do ya think??

Actually it's a matter of preference. What I recommend may not be what you like. Better to meet us for one of the outing, then you can decide for yourself.

 

Bladefire, sorry, I don't know enough about electronics to comment. Maybe engineers like Raptor or Rommel may know better.

 

From what I know, the coil charges even at idling, I've seen it myself. And in some other forums I read, when the battery is fully charged, the additional voltage (?) are translated to heat, causing the coil to burn. I dunno, aren't there supposed to be capacitors to regulate the charging? Quite the opposite of the other thread you posted.

The stator issue in US is not new btw. 3 yrs ago they had the same problem as us.

 

Rommel, once you arrive, we'll leave your stuffs at my place, and shoot up to Cameron. Make sure you have plenty of sleep. It looks like a bit of a rush for you. In the evenings, it rains for an hour or so.

Just rummaged through my mails, got this from Max, the earliest date is Mar 3.

 

As long as you have a jacket, jeans and boots, can ride already. My 1st time on the track, I was wearing Dainese D Dry jacket, Timberland Goretex smart casual shoes and jeans. Of course, the track marshall (?) told me not to wear that shoe next time.

 

I have a new Dainese Bora leather jacket, size 50, anybody wants to buy for track use?
