do i need to pay 1st and wait for the claim in this case?

I think you better call your insurance company, they can advise you. Depending how you claim, you may have to fork out the cash 1st.

You are smiling all the way Lass. I'm sure you will beat every racer if you take part in the Suzuka 24 hours Endurance race on board the Agusta.

Din, what time are you leaving on Fri? I'm leaving on Sat morning to KL.

The way she flashes her Darlie smile, it looks like she has already won the race!

today @ bishan j8 multistorey carpark

was behind a merc on the roundabout leading to 2nd floor

upon reaching 2nd floor there was a gap on the left hand side of the merc

i went on the left hand side as there was a gap and merc was slowing down as there was a jam ahead

i went along the left hand side of the merc @ 1st gear speed ar 10km/h

as i went along, both doors on the left opened

the doors slammed into me and i fell to the left with the bike landing on my left leg

my pillon fell as well with abrasions on her leg

i ended up with a bruised ankle and badly bruised and bloodied right pinkie

there was a witness who saw everything and is willing to witness for me

the driver is cooperative as well and given me his particulars

nice guy offered to bring me and my gf to doc which i didn't see the need to trouble him

he asked whether i wanted private settlement or claim his insurance

as i was still in a state of shock and more worried bout my gf's leg did not really think bout it

did a quick check and found scratches on both sides of fairings and right front signal is koyak

in the end as i didn't know how much to ask for we decided to claim his insurance instead and his family left

went to see doc and found out my pinkie's nail is dead, would fall off

doc gave me a 1 day mc for my injury

now i need you pp advice who have experience in this before

should i ask for private settlement or claim his insurance

if private settlement how much should i ask for?

should i go idac first thing in the morning or ask my workshop advice 1st?

After doing much research, one of the best mod you can do to your bike is changing the OEM rims to a lighter one.

You will be able to accelerate, decelerate and flick better. It's like having a huge power boost. Not only that, since braking is much easier, you'll feel like you switched to a high end Brembo brake system.

Forged rims are lighter and stronger than the cast or machined types using the same material.

So which material? Aluminium or Magnesium? There is a general concensus that Mag rims are best suited for track use. It's definitely lighter and stronger than Alu, but it's also more brittle, oxides easily and difficult to maintain. For these reasons, they are not suitable for road use. Imagine when stones chip away the paint, the exposed part starts oxidizing. When it hits a pothold, it'll probably crack as well.

Alu is softer. If it hits a pothold, chances are, you can still repair it and bend it back to shape. Also it's cheaper than the Mag wheels.

Then enters carbon fibre.

Again, the general consensus think that, if you use CF wheels on the road, you're making a bad safety decision. Once it gets into an accident or hits a pothole, it's very difficult to verify the structural integrity of the rims. You'll probably have to throw them away and buy a new set.

Then enters Blackstone Tek (BST).

They have rims certifed (many certifications indeed) for road use. To cut a long story short, they're not your regular CF rims.

Check out this page.

http://www.ram.mc/wheels/BST/En-abs/En-abs-gallery-en.htm

In conclusion, for the price conscious, go for the Marchesini forged Alu. I seem to understand why the Tamburini, with such a high price tag, comes with forged Alu instead of forged Mag.

However, if you have cash to spare, go for the BST.

I'm sure some of you have seen a black WRX STi on the road with gold rims. This combi looks good. Imagine a black blade with gold Marchesini rims. It's gonna be a real knockout. (I hereby reserve this design for my new bike, heh)

In conclusion, switching to a pair of lighter rims is better than changing pipes, brake pumps ...

PG TRACK DAY 3 HOUR SPECIAL (SUNDAY 4 DEC 2005)

For your information and forward planning.

Time: 10 AM - 1 PM.

Cost: RM5 to enter the circuit.

RM80 to use the track.

Feature: There will always be two 5 lap races organised at about noon time. One race for the 400cc and below and the other is for the above 600cc.

So........... who's coming out to play???

Lately there has been alot of CBR1000RRs appearing on the track, quite a few owned by Caucasians.

They come with Yoshis, Akras, Arrows, Microns and what else too. Full systems and end cans, with or without silencers even.

So for those who are still deciding what kind of pipe to put on... this Sunday is your chance to hear how these pipes sound at idle, whilst moving off and when blasting down the back straight at redlines.

Standing next to a bike fitted with the pipe you are interested in and revving it ain't going to tell you a thing. You need to listen to what they sound like just before the rev limiter cuts in. :thumb:

And yeah... go there and see the awsome speed a K6 with an end can and PC3 can put on down the front straight. Mind blowing.

This Sat werk lah bro on afternoon shift. Difficult to join you guys on weekends as I get my weekend of once a month. Btw juz got back from K.L. for some test ride on my Blade. Quite impressed with this newer version blade so much diffrent from my previous one a 97 version 919. Power is so smooth and handles well. Though I discovered some flat spots with the stock pipe overall I think its good enough for now though my view may be wrong I welcome any comments. Anyone here got some tips and suggestions bout this bike?

In case anyone is interested, a forged Alu Marchesini is around S$2,800.

The BST sells for around S$4,700. It's a good buy considering if you're overseas, it sells for a much higher price.
