The Yoshi makes a "blap blap blap" sound. Good thing you switched to Arrow.

What blap blap sound??

Obviously you have not heard my bike changing gears at 11500 rpm down the front straight of Sepang yet. :lovestruck:

Has anyone tried the clutchless shifting?

Fischer uses Korean engines if I remembered correctly, Hyosung?

Can actually save you quite a bit of time in the one lap.

That's the sound it makes from Beagle's bike.

I remembered we stopped at the roadside, I was just standing behind the bike about 2 metres away, and Din came and whacked Beagle's bike, insects flew out of the foul a s s and hit me at my face.

:help:

I think due to low usage, insects made a nest out of his pipe, that's why it makes a "blap blap blap" sound. We should get Beagle mothballs for X'mas.

clutchless shifting? only from time to time.

i find it easier to do above 3k rpm n at higher gears. pretty difficult for me to do smoothly between gear 1 n 2.

i've mistimed the change occasionally n the gear lever refuses to move. as i understand it, do dis hard enuf n u might cause bent shift forks. if it does happen... expensive repairs...

however if done smoothly it is very satisfying. extremely fast gear changes! essential as a track technique certainly.

generally i pull the clutch in only slightly before i upshift. for me it is smoother than clutching in fully. it is like the clutchless shift only that i add a little clutching in.

how abt the reverse? clutchless downshifting. oso easier at higher gears at around 3k rpm for me. let the bike coast on a close throttle, then crack it open just a wee bit n kick down.

but erm... dis has a higher chance of damaging the gear selectors though... it's harder to do smoothly since u must get the engine to spin a little faster than the current gear so that its speed matches the next lower gear.

actualli ive been playing around and doing clutchless upshifting for close to 7 years, since 1999, when i was still riding an RS125.

It takes alot of getting use to, and u can apply the technique to most bikes.

Frankly, i can tell u that it really works, :thumb: and makes hell alot of difference.

When im out wif friends, and smtimes we tend to play drag race for fun with one another, of similiar bikes or higher, this method really makes e difference, even since my bike is fully stock.

btw, Tashi, the last time i had a drag race with u, and the other 600cc bikes at gelang patah airfield runway, i was using the clutchless upshifting method. And u can really see a lot of difference, even though my bike is fully stock. :thumb:

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that!"

NACL, the info on the downside of clutchless shifting if not done correctly is very useful, thanks for sharing. At least we can be mindful about it when trying out the technique. The original article should've included a warning.

Din, no wonder. 1st gear I was pulling away, then when I shifted to 2nd gear, the clutch was slipping, and everyone was wondering how come your bike can pull so hard. Then I thought, maybe you turned off your headlights, that's why your bike could go faster.

KNN, should've told us earlier. Beagle has been having a field day talking bad about the Arrow pipe until I dunno where to hide my face. He was literally hitting me left right center with his insect-collecting pipe.

Hey beagle..you have not seen the best of Yoshi yet if you juz merely take the baffle out!! :cheeky:

Try repacking the yosh and remove the wire meshing covering the silencer..Wah lau eh!!! MotoGP man!!! :cheer:

It cost $80(neg) at Bikewerks to do that mod..After that mod is done, u'll luv the Yosh even more!!

I've done mine..the first few days I dun dare ride without the baffle. Only after I blast 2 to 3 times at Gelang Patah..the sound during idle and cruising became bearable and now I ride without the baffle but during high rpm blast..ish ish ish, the sound is wonderful!! Try it.. :lovestruck: and not forgetting, you can feel the power gain..

Ooi, next time when cats die under your bike, don't call me for help.

Just recently, his bike was giving out a foul smell, he thought a cat had committed suicide under his bike. Hehe. Must be the smell of insects getting grilled in your pipe.

How come your avatar has a green insect? Bwahaha, I can see the connection now. Goodness, I'm laughing so loud I can wake up the whole neighbourhood.

Just came across this video on MotoGP crashes. It just reinforces how important protection is.

Arrow pipe is a high range pipe as compared to other makes.

I had brought it to dyno with stock n arrow system.

I can see from the graph that arrow from low to mid is worst than stock. But when it comes to high end, it go up all the way...

Try the Akra hexa pipe. It looks good.

Torque is correct, below 4,500rpm is where Arrow takes a hit.

Bro.... the stock pipe is configure wif 4-2-1 system. Generally if u replace it wif a 4-2-1-2 system like the arrow, u will comfirm suffer some low to mid loss but gain lots of top end gain. For my case i up 2 tooth to the rear spocket to 42 to compense for the low to mid loss. Bros out there correct me if i'm wrong ok? haha.....

Yup..dats wat i think also! Mine was tuned at Looi's..Lots of minor mods done here and there..

Flapper mod

Air duct mod

BMC filter

Short velocity stacks

Yoshi GP force ECE slip-on

Catylyser removed

PC III

4 pt grounding wire

Thats about wat I can remember..156hp before / 165hp after tuning @ Looi's

165hp does not include the recent mod I've done to my Yoshi..

:cheeky:

Does anyone here have something else in mind I can do?? I likeeee...:lovestruck:
