Merry X'mas & Happy New Year ROMMEL! :cheer:

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done. Now, if you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth. But you gotta be willing to take the hit, and not pointing fingers saying you ain't where you are because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that!"

Hi guys,

Juz like to share my experience and view at Race Werks juz now. Went there around 3.30pm to do servicing for my bike at 20,000km.

Norman attended to me, he was very helpful and evrything was done up to standard. Over the years i have been to quite a number of workshop to service my bike but the workmanship was questionable. However i have total confidence to leave my bike at race werks without any worries.

There the breakdown of the servicing and cost.

1. Honda oil filter = $16

2. Maxium Ultra (5w50) = $66 (3 Litres)

3. Goldfren Brake pads = $84 (3 pairs)

4. Bleeding brake fluid = $25

5. Air Filter (Honda OEM) = $115 (1 pair)

Total cost is $306, Norman didn't charge for workmanship.

I not trying to promote for the shop but just like to share a good place to service our bikes.

Cheers:smile:

Bluesea, where is RaceWerks?

Usually I would source my own parts, and then go to Mah or BS to have them changed. Just pay for labour. Doing 1 & 2 of your above would cost me $72, plus I give another $10 for labour, so that works out to be the same.

Alvyzz, OEM air filter is around that price, it's not cheap.

I have 1 OEM air filter going for $55 if anybody wants. Works on 04 till 06 Blades.

Well, there's a good reason not to get a 05 Repsol Blade, reason is, the orange paint on the wheel comes off.

If that doesn't dissuade you, maybe this letter from Honda will piss you off. Thi dude wrote in to have his wheel changed.

Anyone considering a 07 Repsol should have a tissue sprayed with Wd40 or something similar, swipe it a few times on the wheels and see if the paint comes off before buying.

Just got my VFR yesterday. Now kind of regretting it a little. Hope my oncoming trip to Thailand will remind me why I sold it. I miss my CBR 1000 RR terribly, miss the instant trottle power that scared the sh*t out of me, the wonderful corner speed that I could take. I wheelie for the 1st time on Friday night after I rev it too much. Lucky never fell off.

Those considering to sell their CBR 1000, I think U will definately have Beagel's moment also. I was really feeling it for the last 3 days I have my CBR. :cheeky:

Sep 02 to Oct 02- Black Cagiva Planet (1 word Lousy)

Oct 02 to Oct 03- Yellow RXZ133 (Too light for me)

Oct 03 to Mar 05- White Purple CBR 400RR (Not enough style & power)

Mar 05 to Dec 06- Red CBR 1000RR (Wonderful except the magnetic coil issue)

Dec 06- Dec 07- Black VFR 800 (Good bike but not my style, thks for the memories)

Dec 07- Black GSX1000K8 (Nothing else to say except Damn good)

3. Goldfren Brake pads = $84 (3 pairs)

Just curious which type of Gold Fren did he install? The ceramic (red packaging) or S3 Racing (blue packaging)? I can get you a pair for around $20 (for most Honda models this is the rough price guide) for the S3 racing the next time your pads are out. But need to change yourself lar which is quite easy to do.:thumb:

EBC HH brake pads....worth the investment. You would think they are too expensive at about $50+ a pair... but would not think so when you can stop your bike from going straight into the tyre wall at the end of the Sepang front straight as you brake at the 200m marker from 270 KMH.

Which when translated to street riding.... whether you hit the other vehicle or not during an emergency brake.

Also I strongly recommend steel braided brake lines and Brembo brake pumps. So what if you have a 180HP dyno tested CBR1000RR but cannot stop in time?

Brakes and tyres... your life rides on them. You decide.

Just my 2 cents on the issue of priorities. Ride safe guys.

Bro Raptor, well piece of advice for all riders out there. T

The EBC HH pads are indeed very good but i wanted to try out the gold fred brake pads to see how good it was. So far i have run in about 100km on the pads but they are biting very well already, wonder after 500km run in how much better would it be???

Ride safe during this wet season.

Cheers
