Hi guys, worst news ever

Shahrir said that the new price of 2.70 ringgit did not reflect the full market value, which could be as high as 3.00-4.00 ringgit when the price controls are completely removed in August

Cool, post some pix when you get it.

Even Yamaha has joined Aprilla with a modern V4 bike, when is Honda giving us one? VFR & Pan Euro is so dated.

Warning:

A group of friends went to Malacca over the weekend on a Saturday. They went for the famous Chicken Rice and parked their bikes at a carpark paying RM$1.00 each.

Upon their returned to the carpark, their bikes were ALL STOLEN!!!

Stolen bikes were:

ST1300A last year registered

CB400 Revo - brand new

R1 - last year registered

These days, the malaysian syndicates are getting more bold and complex in the operations. 3 bikes all disappeared. Can't imagine how they could haul a big ST1300 without been seen.

In the last 3 Nation rides, was told that 3 R1s were stolen in KL.

PREVENTION SUGGESTION:

If you can't resist to go up North, I would suggest that you go in a group and parked you bikes infront of you, where you can watch and in a crowded area. In this case you may deter you bikes from been stolen.

Forget about paying tips to the security guards, and leaving them to care. They will disappear together when your bikes are stolen, as it happen in KL by a Goldwing Owner. Good thing the theft was only an attempt on his rear box.

There was an Ang Mo who bought the 1st CBR1000RR8 which is Black in colour at Boon Siew.

But he decided to go for the WHITE CBR1000RR8, and has since taken delivery. You might even spot him riding on the road.

It is true, even sportsbike will have ABS. Nice paint scheme though, all matte paint.

First look at Honda's ABS CBR600RR

By Ben Purvis

10 June 2008 09:31

Honda has revealed a CBR600RR with ABS brakes and MCN is due to ride the motorcycle today.

The prototype CBR600RR is the first ever supersports motorcycle to feature the ABS that it plans to roll out across all its production machines within the next two years.

The CBR600RR is fitted with a completely new brake-by-wire Combined ABS system, which uses a computer control unit to ensure the correct balance of front and rear brake use and also to decide exactly when the ABS should cut in.

The system is designed to delay the ABS until until the last possible moment, to make it as unobtrusive as possible.

Why don't you wait for the RR9?? Honda has been consistently releasing Repsol colors in 2005 & 2007. It is likely they will do it again in 2009.

Here is how they operate, according to a biker on a Malacca trip.

He noticed he was been followed while they were shopping around in the mall. Feeling uncomfortable, he decided to go back to check, where his bike was parked.

Upon reaching his parked bike, he saw about 6-7 guys loitering around his bike, and so he shouted at them which caused them to flee.

This is how they operate:

1. Once the thieves spotted their target bike, they will trail.

2. A group of men will be ready to haul the bike onto their waiting vehicle, waiting nearby.

3. Their look-out will be sent to follow the rider or the group of riders, and ready to signal to the waiting men.

4. Once the rider or riders are far out from their parked bike or are comfortably settled down, the look-out will signal (probably by mobile) for the waiting men to haul off the bike.

5. The rest is history, it will be sold off as broken up parts to be assembled at the buyer's destination, etc. (as in the case of the Singapore syndicates which was caught).

Some sign to watch out for from the above experience.

A - group of suspicious men

B - A big Van or lorry nearby

C - Someone watching you, (you could even feel it at times, like the rider above)

D - Tipping to the Security Guard or a person located nearby might not be a good idea as the person may be part of the gang who will inform his member who will eventually raped your beloved motorcycles.

You've got to be able to see where your bike is parked and always go in a big group.

Hope this will be helpful!!!

WOW, Combined ABS

Maybe they will come out with retro-rockets to help stop faster without taxing the tires and thus adding stability.

Some years back, MotoGP riders rejected the idea of a Combined or ABS on their machine.

Just imagine, ABS will not give you the kind of stopping power over a non-abs, you will stopped at a longer distance especially on the dry, due to its pulsing stopping nature of ABS.

Combine braking, you loose control over your braking, you can't control rear wheel spin without affecting the front.

Combined ABS is only good for the road and normal road rider will love it, but hated by racers.

While a front and rear linked braking system has already been available on the Honda CBR1100XX and VFR800 bikes, Honda are now taking things forward and have started testing their new-generation ABS-CBS anti-lock brakes, which use brake-by-wire technology.

Fitted to a CBR600RR for testing, the new Honda ABS system is designed to offer maximum ‘feel’ and sensitivity, and be as unobtrusive as possible. When the front brake is applied hard, the system senses how much pressure is being applied to the brake lever, and the assistance you get from the rear wheel brake is determined according to that.

Also, the brakes are applied hard, there is none of the traditional ABS ‘pulsing’ effect – the bike just stops flat and hard, without either of the wheels locking up. The ABS-CBS system also aids stability, keeping the bike from pitching forward under hard braking.

Essentially, Honda’s new ABS-CBS system allows riders to brake as hard as needed – even on wet and slippery surfaces – without fear of either wheel locking up or the bike sliding out. Honda are likely to introduce ABS-CBS brake-by-wire on the 2009 Fireblade, followed by the rest of the Honda range in 2010.

Always talking nonsense. No wonder the service at BS so slow, hehe.

In other news ...

A Brazilian engineer has been in the news all over the world for being punished for something impossible. Rafael de Andrade owns a 1-litre VW golf and has been fined for driving at 880 km/h. Although the fastest cars in the world are only now reaching 400 km/h, the traffic department from Niteroi, Rio de Janeiro, refuses to cancel the fine. Andrade also refuses to pay. If it was not enough, the lawyer Jucelei Tavares Menezes has been fined for behaving even worse: in 2001, a radar caught him at 4,800 km/h!

Menezes was also driving a VW golf, but it had a 1,6-litre engine, what would help to explain the difference in the speed, but what we really think that was the cause for the supersonic feat was the fact that Menezes’ golf was part of a Rolling Stones limited edition. Rock and roll, baby!

The good side of the story is that the traffic department in Blumenau, the city where Menezes lives, has recognised its mistake and canceled the fine with no further discussions. Almeida, on the other hand, is still trying to argue with Niteroi’s traffic department. In Brazil, fines have a rule to be revised: the first request for canceling it is for free. If it is denied, there is still a second chance, but you have to pay the fine in the first place. If the fine is canceled, you can have your money back. Andrade has already made the first request for canceling the fine. Incredibly, the traffic department has refused it…
