Has anyone experienced this before?

Bike went on a false neutral between gear 3 & 4, 4 & 5!

Sounds dangerous?

It happened to me twice!

Once @ PG and once along ECP, both times i dropped a gear to prepare to negotiate a turn!

I was lucky cos I braked 1st to slow down enough, if not I'll be dead!...maybe not so serious lah. But my point is, this is gonna be deadly if it happens at very high speeds just before you make a turn.

Has it got to do with the latest recall rumours about the clutch cable issues?

I'm going to call Boon Siew to check.

I'm posting this to just to give you guys a heads up! Be mindful when entering turns at high speeds.

Sounds scary, only happened to me once from 2 to 1, but then that wasn't a false neutral.

Mah always does Parallel Import bike's only. since when BS supply them with local bikes? happen to the 08 models too... i got mine from Bike Production, BoonSiew was offering 19.5k same as BP @ that point of time... when i saw mah offer 26k and claim that its local bike... Carrot Head???

Hehe, I'd have to prove you wrong, Mah does offer BS bikes, I bought my RR3, RR4 & RR6 from them, all BS bikes.

The claims still under processing.. sianz..

Bike out already.. :) lucky no major repair...

My RR6 claims still waiting too. :sian:

I am hoping the court will charge that guy with perjury too, dragged on my case for so long.

i think u dun get what i mean... first thing of all, do u noe u can drop or up a gear w/o using clutch no matter its slipper or non slipper clutch?

what i mean to pull harder as in ur leg when u shift gear, cause when the bike is higher rev, its easily change between gears 2-6 with the strength of ur toe slip it upwards and it will auto engage in... so this is wat i mean. did u fully use ur toe to pull all e way upwards before releasing it?

I know what you mean.

Still ... it happened again.

That's why I posted to ask if anyone else is having the same problem.

I think I should just ask Boon Siew.

Thanks for your feedback dude.

Dude, I get what you mean.

When something like this happens you check you are doing the right thing and make sure it is not due to human error then post to ask. Sorry I didn't spell every single details and sequence of what I was doing during the gear change.

Not challenging your knowledge on riding a bike, don't have to treat others as if it's their 1st day riding a bike...we all came a long way to get class 2.

But my question was simply does the machine have this problem?

Still it happened again...3 times in 1 week is not a very good record.

Think I'll just go to Boon Siew since bike's still under warranty.

Thanks for your feedback.

just passing by..

went down to a bike shop at MAH to have a chat with my long time fren..

I notice a piece of paper that had "BOON SIEW" header.

Ask my fren, he showed me and it was the pricelist of HONDA bikes from boon siew.

and the CBR1000RR9 (RRP) cost a whopping 33k (machine only). And the piece of paper is dated today 27/02/2009

I was like "WOW!!!!!!!!!!!"

My fren told me its because of the strong YEN currency.

Hmm..

Is this so or just boon siew is monopolizing it..?

Oh by the way..

Super4 Revo RRP is 17.8k

:faint: :faint:

Errr i checked with Mah Motors... they also told me machine 33K.

If a bike is 33k, will the interest rate still hold?

a wkend car is 33k but interest maybe 2%p.a

they will be closing shop if bike loan interest still holds at 4% or more.

The yen is about 25% increases from early 2008 till now. Plus now all manufacturing sector slowed down. So the manufacturing cost had increased and is still increasing. I guess this marked up price is to safe guard Boon Siew interest as the machine or FOB price they get from Honda is reviewed from time to time. And normally distributor will not try to change their selling price so often a year. It safer for them to quote higher and give discount if neccessary then under sell to consumer.

Anyway there is always their agent to give discount to genuine buyer. But at the end of the day, HENG I BOUGHT THE 08 MODEL.

u Lucky ah .... now i cant change bike liao

Sigh .... so bored ...

Actually, over the weekend was chatting with some frens over the prices of bikes due to the appreciating yen...... Since the prices of 1st hand bikes are going skyhigh, should the value of 2nd hand bikes go up as well since it is more costly to get a 1st hand Japanese bike? Demand will be more for 2nd hand bikes then..... Bt obviously, it is not happening.......

Other options would be to consider Italian makes like Ducati........ But obviously values of Italian bikes are staying around the regions of $30+k to $40k.......

Even the prices of new 08 bikes have appreciated slightly. I would think 2nd hand 08 prices should go up once the brand new 08 supplies have been depleted.

If I am a buyer and would need a bike now, I wouldn't mind paying 28k otr compared to 35k otr.

hi guys so how was the trip that day???

The trip is okay. Got 2 cb1000 and 2 cbr1000 plus some of my friends. But we talk discussed mainly on *ahem* stuff instead of bikes. HAHAHAHA.

Anyone went to Bike Asia and has some pix to post? I was not able to attend.

Nothing much there to see. Almost all is Italian stuff. I was chatting with one of the supplier there, he mentioned Bikeasia was actually cancelled. But there was some last minute thing which involved the Italian community which took over it and thats why there is nothing much there except mainly Italian stuff. You can basically see all the stuff at bike shop.

Hi Bladers

I was thinking of getting a 1000rr in the near future but was turned off by the post that a new machine now cost about $33k. I would like to ask how much does a cbr 1000rr cost previously? say 07 06 models? As for the repsol paintwork, is there any price difference if I were to get a model of that kind?

Thanks guys!
