man oh man.... i smell smoke raising...

Our Mr oldtree998 is helpful to post possible info here and i believe its of no harm... trying to deter and raise alert on theft to help fellow bikers bro here... protective towards our own biker's belonging...

Axxis, i also agree on wat u say regarding on innocent person's bike being vandalized through an assumption alone based on coincidence.. here u r being protective to also our fellow bikers bro cos of accidental vandalism of innocent bikers would reli be bad...

pardon mi guys..... i mean.. both of u do make a point... its jus that posting up on the net reli have no "tone" in speech and therefore, words which maybe meant in a joking manner become very abusive if being misread... hope u ppl here noe wat im tryin to picture here... peace guys.... don let this kinda side issue become a hindrance to our brothership with the passion on riding...

cheers bro..

I think the solution is to get one of those cashcard reminders where there will be a beeping sound if you park your bike without taking out your cashcard.

I just think what ever I do now, will come back to haunt me, last time it happened, saw a cash card, with about $35 value. I wrote him a note, "your cash card is wrapped in the cloth". And placed the slip of paper in his IU unit, hope he got it back...

Cheers

What I do is to leave the transparent cover open whenever my Cashcard is in it (Weather permits, of course). Hence, when you turn your bike off, you are bound to notice your card that is still in the IU.

Hope this helps.

Hmmm....I used to punch a hole in the cash card.

Use a ribbon to tie another card size photo to the cash card so that photo is forever dangling in front of me whenever I have a cash card inserted into my IU.

I tried this several times but that cover keeps falling back into place that in the end when I stop my bike, I still forget to take the cashcard out. Luckily now my IU is under my seat. Never forget to put the IU unit back under my rear seat once I parked my bike. Even if I forget to take out my cashcard, it is OK cos it is out of sight...

Like how all these nice gents was discussing and adjusting the IU into the back seat of a brand new R1?

I find that hiding the keys sometimes dont really work as well for those forgetful riders.

Me, I rather leave my namecard on the bike to get the rider to call me the moment they got to their bike.

As yet, I have not tried to remove a cashcard from a bike. Looking thru here, I guess I should have...eg.

There was one time, I saw the bike next to me with the cashcard inserted. I didnt know whether to take it out and hide it or take it away and leave my name card.

Cos the moment, I try to lift that card, I could be accused of stealing that cashcard.

Good thing is, the ah pek rider was seen quickly walking towards the bike and my direction and he smiled at me before he removed his card. (I can only hope it really is his bike.)

All riders!! I've lost my cashcard countless times and felt frustated with my forgetfullness every single time it happens. There was once i even rushed out of a cinema in the middle of a tense moment of a show just to retrieve my cashcard. But ended up cursing n swearing on my way back to my seat.

So finally.. on one bright and sunny morning. I was just sitting around n thinking about all my stolen cashcards when a brilliant(at least for me) idea came up.

This is my suggestion...

Buy those coiled lanyards normally sold at bookstores. Put one end of the lanyard(the ring end) onto ur bike keys/ key pouch etc. When you ride and have to put in ur cashcard into the IU, attached the other end(the clip end) onto the IU cover. That way, one end will be on the key and the other on the IU as long as u are riding. When u reach ur destination, as you remove ur keys from ur ignition, u r definitly not gonna forget ur cashcard as the other end or ur lanyard is still attached to the IU.

I have been using this method for the past year and so far.. I am still using the same cashcard i bought that same time i got the lanyard. Compared to the 10 or so cashcard that i lost since ERP was implemented........

Try it out guys!! Good Luck!!

One sonofabit*h force-pry open my IU cover when I locked it... Hence breaking the 2 holes btw the cover and the IU....

I swear if I ever catch another sonofabit*h attempting to steal my cashcard again, I'm gonna break his hands before handing him to the police...

These low-life as*holes have every intention to steal your cashcard. I've tried from pasting decals on the cover, covering every possible angle of the cashcard being seen should I forget to remove it to LOCKING the IU and yet these bast*rds still don't give up. One of these days I gonna shove my helmet up his.....

for me i ride a wave and i have a front basket and cover... my IU is in my front basket and on top of it i have a bike cover....so till today, i leave my cashcard in the cover and never bother to lock it but my card is always there. i always make it a point only to have max $10 in it. so.... you can also try this method... drill hole, put bracket on ur R1/Gxsr/RVF wadeva...the put front basket and buy a cover from me...

So next question...

Is it wrong to leave the cashcard in the ERP unit, wait till some dickhead steals it and then go bash them?

However, I have a quick release clip for all of my keys and I only use the single bike ignition key when riding as I don't like a big bunch of keys jingling around and scratching up my top tripple clamp while riding.
