vincentheng: Wat spocket size u using? yes u might try doing engine flush first. get a fully syn mobil 1 $19 from aboi and change eo after the engine flush. get a cr9 series spark plug from aboi also. do these things and c wat d putcome. dun jump to overhaul.

 

I am going to Ah boy tomorrow to change spark plugs. I called them up. Price is 4$ per plug. UM charges 6$ I guess. UM far away, somemore.

 

I will also look at some Handle Grips at Ah boy and if I like will change there itself.

Today 1st time in my life I opened the air filter of my bike. I was shocked to see oil in the filter. Mine is P180 Ug2. Is this normal? I never thought oil is applied to air filter.

May be these pics will help you. You can see the dark oil mark in the lower half of the sponge. What type of filter is this?

To the others:

I did some research and found that its engine oil that has gone into the air filter box. It could be due to excess oil filled or some other problem. But my bike is riding fine so I think its only due to excessive oil.

 

I am thinking of changing the air filter also since it soaked with oil, lol. Can we get aftermarket air filters for UG2 P180?

It's normal lah bro as long as not over excessive .. reason why you need to check and clean your airfilter and the airbox every period time.

Our stock air filter is just like normal foam or sponge so cannot complain lah for it's quality ... you need to clean it often and once you do that oftenly the airfilter will spoil and need to change lah hehehehe

so this is another reason why we opt for aftermarket to have the lifespan longer no doubt you clean and wash the aftermarket filter.

 

You can opt for open port like bro haktek using bought from cookie monster or you can get the KNN open port like bro totelpet using .. however for the KNN af you need a little mod.

For the Protec AF .. you need to cut but I don't encourage that as AF should be tight fit in the airbox to prevent dirt enters the carb and engine! .. Air Filters MUST do that job!

Like alvin stated .. UG2 and below unable for Protec AF

 

Regards to the oil traces in the box ... it happens becos of the blow by gas during compression in the crankcase system.

Please see pic for clearer picture .. btw I've posted this before lah ... hmmmm

 

To prevent over excessive oil in the box ... do note when you change during eo intervals .

 

1: spare some time longer to have more used eo flow or drip out

2: before you close the plug, give a couple of kick start! .. you'll be surprised to see more left over eo flow out.

3: open your air box and clean your airfilter

4: do check the drain hose if you can

 

5: my option lah .. DIY!!! the crackcase breather ...bypass with small air breather filter like mine ..... hahahahaha

hmmmmm .. you need to aware of the sponge/foam quality and the thickness for ....

 

1: appropriate amount clean air need to suck in to the carb and engine

2: it must do the job or lack of clean air will not able to have your bike in good performance

3: if dirty air or lack of clean air entered the engine, it will bring more harm than good in long run.

4: will affect your fc
