APRIL BTMO : Sat/Sun 9 or 10 April @ A&W Johor Bahru

I thought we could organize a trip to Malaysia this WE to get some A&W goodness in JB ! :D

http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ6DPXsGvOMEoC16-SmcIo6PDk0yjig1MB3aH1AIwipoUEtJ_r7

I'm ok to organize and come up with all the details and communication, but I need a show of hands to get attendance numbers.

We would leave in the morning, then cross the customs, ride a bit and stop at the A&W to have lunch. After that, we can take some scenic routes not too far and make our way back beginning of the afternoon. Or we can just go, pump, eat and come back if you prefer. More details on the program once I know who will be joining.

There are two A&W in JB: one on the east side, @ Permas Jaya shopping center, and one at the west side, @ Bukit Indah.

Put your name below on the day you want to go (majority will win):

Saturday 9 April :

1. O'Ren

2.

3.

4.

5.

6.

Sunday 10 April :

1. O'Ren

2.

3.

4.

5.

6.

We would be leaving around 10am, if we're there early, we'll ride on scenic roads first and then have lunch later.

Fredd want to go??? i be free on sat... u on i on.... since last week u cant u owe me one rideing!!

Bro, In India none of the bikes have a racks or boxes. Its totally unheard of in India. The only people that have rear boxes are the pizza delivery guys and hence its got kind of a negative image there.

When I first saw the rear boxes in Singapore, It looked damn embarrasing to me as well. But later I realized how useful they are.

They dont need box in India, because helmets are not compulsory in most cities and even if they are compulsory, they are not compulsory for the pillion. Indian's never wear any jackets or protective gears either, so no need of box.

Boxes is a very Singaporean thing to do..

Countries where helmet is mandatory, usually bike owners lock them on the bike or carry them around, take them to the office/house/public place they're visiting.

It's only in Singapore that you see a box on ev.e.ry.sin.gle bike ! it's crazy here.. You can actually barely buy a bike without a box ! How many of you had the bike shop they approached to buy their bikes, recommend a rack and a box along with it !? Yeah, all of us..

In France, only scooters come with a box, when it's the native one, the cool looking one. Usually you don't see sports bike with boxes, and certainly not scramblers with boxes (insanity) ! Touring bikes, yes, they got boxes, all over - but we're talking Ewan Mc Gregor kinda touring here folks, not pump-JB touring lol

But in Singapore, I feel you need the box mainly because of 2 helmets and rain coats and protective gear. Riding is already considered unsafe here. So those who take up riding will need to have all the protective stuff and rain wear as it can rain here any time. So no choice but to have a box.

India is crazy market. There people are very image conscious and hence they just cant think of a box and a bike together. There they dont even ride kup kias, lol. As the market there gives so much importance to looks, that kup kias will never be accepted there. Even scooters are considered as a girly thing. Men ride only naked bikes like Pulsar.

Another thing is half face helmets. They are also considered totally un-cool there. They either ride will full face helmets or no helmet at all. I dont understand in a safety conscious country like SG why half face helmets are so popular. Why cant we get cheap full face helmets here? I just dont get it.

wearin fullface in sg is considered uncool or too kiasu..moreover..wearin fullface is very hot and difficult to communicate wif ur pillion n the list will go on n on..hence..halfcap is the preferred choice..

because open face helmets are generally cheaper(don't add in arai and shoei ones)

those who take up 2B if they were to buy their own helmet they will go for the cheap ones (e.g LAB)

as for the prices of FF helmets, what do you define cheap?

some define cheap as $500 some as $25

so is your own defination

get the zeus zs3000

reasonable priced with option to change to open face or use as flip up

I think the cheapest full face helmet costs like 200$ whereas cheapest half face 25$. That is huge price gap which causes people to take the cheaper route and compromise safety. Even if the helmet is PSB approved I feel half face is still very unsafe compared to the lowest quality full face helmets.

If you think about it the full face helmet is just a small extension of the half face helmet so it should really cost that much more. I think its something to do with the PSB approval process that makes full face helmets so expensive.
